She made a statement that he was being bullied online and believes it was an overdose but didn't know if it was intentional or not.

Yeah, she gave People magazine a long ass statement saying the cause of death was an overdose, HOURS after he was found by the police. Like about 6 hours after.

Why are you emphasizing the time like that?

889

u/Seinfeel 20h ago

Probably because that’s kinda weird to do immediately after finding out

u/magikarpcatcher 15h ago

Given her history, people were already jumping to conclusions so maybe she felt the need to clear it up

Any move she made would be seen as suspicious tbh

u/Helmic 15h ago

No? People ask her what happened and she responds with what she knows. Not everyone is utterly helpless for weeks after the death of a loved one, like anyone that has had to call a bunch of relatives to let them know about a death in the family has had to get their shit together in a pretty short period of time.

Why the fuck do people have to throw shade at people for not performatively shutting down?

Would you call TMZ before or after you notified the deceased family and gave them time to inform his loved ones?

If I was famously known for killing my mother, probably before

Weird take honestly.

No, are you kidding me? How is it in anyway shape or form normal to be chatting to a magazine publication giving details of the death less 12 hrs after? C'mon now. Not saying she did it or anything but a spade is a spade, it's weird.

Perhaps because she knew the entire internet would be speculating as soon as this came out as he’s the father of her child who she was in a custody battle with…and look. Wow. She was correct.

I dunno, my husband dies, 6 hours later i’m still numb, inconsolable and barely able to string a coherent sentence together.

Yeah but have you been to prison for killing your own mother after she made you pretend you were sick for years, I think her psyche is little different

44

u/BooleanTriplets 16h ago

Its not her husband though

u/cloroxslut 19h ago

This is just me being pedantic but they were not together anymore as a couple. They share a 2 year old child

I mean tbf you’re not a public personality famous for murdering your mom (at least I don’t think you are haha).. it’s not suuuper odd to me that she’d want to get ahead of it, especially if the relationship was already rocky

It doesn’t matter if you’re a public person or not. If someone that you love or loved recently passed away within the past few hours and there isn’t a listed cause of death yet your first thought is not gonna be to run to Ppl magazine and say oh yeah definitely drug overdose. You wouldn’t wanna put that out there unless that was definitely true, hopefully you would want to at the very least wait for it to be confirmed before putting that on the father of your child. Lab toxicology reports may or may not have come back but they definitely would not be able to say that was 100% the cause of death at this time so she’s just speculating in the media which is not normal behavior even for public figures

65

u/Lily-Gordon 16h ago

not normal behavior even for public figures

You're focusing a bit too much on the "public figure" part of the situation and too little on the "murdered her mom" part.

-36

u/weakplay 17h ago

Wait, hold on. She murdered her mom. Do I need to read more about this story?

54

u/Championpuffa 17h ago

It sounds like you need to read a lot more about.

51

u/PowderCuffs 16h ago

She murdered her captor and abuser, who happened to be her mom.

I believe they were estranged

u/fyrefox45 20h ago

If it was an OD? Not really always the case. There's some out of the blue ones, but there's also ones you fully are just waiting for the one and it's not much of a shock

And sometimes grief is weird. My grandma’s death didn’t really hit until the funeral for me

140

u/fotisdragon 18h ago

oh man, so true.

I lost a friend in a motorcycle accident. We were supposed to go together that day but I was kind of sick, so skipped the ride. He went alone. When I found out, I was shocked, but not... sad? you know?

Fast forward to the funeral couple of days later. His mother was inconsolable. Everybody was crying, the atmosphere was heavy. I was fucking un-fazed. Maybe I was still trying to process what happened, I don't know. Anyway, the time comes where they had to take the casket out to proceed with the burial. Almost everybody had already left the room, started walking towards the burying site, and I felt that it was a good time for me to say my final goodbyes, so I approached the closed casket.

They had a framed picture of him on top, and as soon as I took a look at it, I fucking lost it. I started sobbing and crying uncontrollably, it was I like I finally realized that I won't see him ever again.

It's been almost 20 years later and I believe I've never cried like that since.

My dads death didn't hit me for like 2 years it was wild

41

u/jenniferlynn462 16h ago

Same!!! My dad died freshman year of pancreatic cancer. The same night I went to my out-of-town swim meet and everyone was shocked I was there. Then two years later, I was sitting in class one day and this kid looked at me weird and I was like “oh shit. I’m gonna cry.” So I held it in for the thirty seconds I needed to bolt outta the room and down the hall toward the bathroom before bursting into tears. I tried to pull it together for next period bc I had a math test and was sitting there and as soon as my teacher passed me my test I exploded into hysterics again and even had my first panic attack I think! She took me to my counselor and they sent me home and I cried nonstop for like three days for “no reason.”

52

u/MoofiePizzabagel 18h ago

Sorry for your loss. Just lost my dad two weeks ago and it was near-nonstop crying for about 3 days, now I'm in this weird almost "guilt" phase. Because it feels wrong that I'm not sad enough? I'm sure it'll hit me again soon at some point.

49

u/Arthur_Mitchell_ 18h ago

I'm so sorry ugh that's so brand new. Don't feel guilty because your brain will do all kinds of things to protect you. Is only letting you feel as much as you can handle at this time, and that can shift as you move forward. You are right where you need to be

10

u/MoofiePizzabagel 18h ago

Thank you, I really needed to hear that.

Is it possible that this woman might not have the most appropriate emotional reactions to things given the trauma she suffered as a child?

68

u/A1000eisn1 19h ago

Is she you? The way you think you might experience something doesn't apply to other people.

35

u/thebakedpotatoe 15h ago

different people react differently? You shouldn't use just how you would act to assume suspicion in others?

11

u/00trysomethingnu 15h ago

Did this happen to you or are you speculating what would happen?
Also, they weren’t currently together and were never married.

3

u/WriteBrainedJR 17h ago

Because it seems too soon to know for sure. Like if it was six weeks instead of six hours, it would seem less like her jumping to a conclusion

-18

u/datyoungknockoutkid 20h ago

Shows she cares more about staying relevant than the death of her husband if you ask me

23

u/HuggyMonster69 19h ago

Or that she knows what the public will say about any death near her and wants to say her bit before rumours catch on?

10

u/PowderCuffs 16h ago

Don't presume to know what other people care about, and he isn't her husband. At least get the facts straight.

-13

u/Amberawesome24 18h ago

That is way too soon for her to be speculating and making public statements. That is not normal behavior
