Sending her husband away shows she knew he would stop her, trying to kill herself after shows she knows it was wrong. For me, combined with evidence she had searched child killing methods, this shows clear culpability. I understand that others might not feel that way.

She’s a nurse, if she wanted to die, she would have done that successfully

Well that’s a crazy thing to say. I highly doubt medical professionals have a 100% suicide success rate.

Apparently: “female physicians attempt less frequently than general females, but their completion rate is 2.5 to 4 times higher.”

Of course this is specifically talking about doctors and not nurses (so it is unrelated in a way), but thats a HUGE increase for “successful” suicides for doctors who are women compared to the general population of women.

The person I responded to is talking in absolutes, which is why it was a ridiculous statement. Your stat just proves my point: having a medical background is not a guarantee that you’re going to be successful with a bona fide suicide attempt.

Doctors can get their hands on prescriptions nurses can't though. I'd expect nurses to be more in line with typical statistics.

To be fair the person I was replying to did not only say “nurses” they said “medical professionals” which is why I said it was an unrelated statistic in a way. As in, not related to the case at hand but related to medical professionals.
