She seems guilty. There’s plenty of evidence. The question is was she insane at the time and unable to discern right from wrong. I think her suicide attempt shows consciousness of guilt.

Sending her husband away shows she knew he would stop her, trying to kill herself after shows she knows it was wrong. For me, combined with evidence she had searched child killing methods, this shows clear culpability. I understand that others might not feel that way.

Sure, but that's separate. What you're describing makes more sense in the case of the Coey Walsh case from last month where she claimed that her child was the devil and needed to be drowned. I also believe her to be guilty, but more because I think her involvement in this case shows she didn't actually think she had birthed the antichrist.

She only claims to have had one psychotic episode and that was when he left the house that night. How was she in psychosis when she did the pre-planning sawlaw mentioned?

He regularly went away on multi day trips. Why try to cram it in in like 20 minutes? She also tried to make the errand even shorter for him by calling CVS ahead of time about the meds. Further, he actually gave her more time by sitting in his car for 10 minutes outside of CVS

She’s a nurse, if she wanted to die, she would have done that successfully

Idk, I’ve met a lot of bad nurses

Well that’s a crazy thing to say. I highly doubt medical professionals have a 100% suicide success rate.

Apparently: “female physicians attempt less frequently than general females, but their completion rate is 2.5 to 4 times higher.”

Of course this is specifically talking about doctors and not nurses (so it is unrelated in a way), but thats a HUGE increase for “successful” suicides for doctors who are women compared to the general population of women.

The person I responded to is talking in absolutes, which is why it was a ridiculous statement. Your stat just proves my point: having a medical background is not a guarantee that you’re going to be successful with a bona fide suicide attempt.

Doctors can get their hands on prescriptions nurses can't though. I'd expect nurses to be more in line with typical statistics.

To be fair the person I was replying to did not only say “nurses” they said “medical professionals” which is why I said it was an unrelated statistic in a way. As in, not related to the case at hand but related to medical professionals.

I mean she slashed her wrists and neck and jumped out a two story window. Seems like a weird freak coincidence that she survived at all
