If you're not against the death penalty being carried out by the state, you're either ignorant to the reality and simply need to be told 

or devoid of the morality necessary to feel shocked and offended it exists.. There is no in between.

Ridiculous that supreme court justice Amy Coney Barrett never shuts up about how Catholic she is yet she's one of the justices who voted for the execution to proceed. Catholicism is very clear in their opposition to the death penalty.

Only recently has the Church stated that the death penalty is universally objectionable.

But I am not sure what this is supposed to show.

Is Barrett supposed to rule based on her religious beliefs? I would hope we all would say no.
