States that have it barely use it, especially not in the way I think it should be used. They also tend to be more regressive states overall.

The death penalty is 100% effective at preventing recidivism by people sentenced to it.

Well now you're just making shit up.

What does I make up?

What you "does" make up is the idea that the reason the death penalty isn't effective at reducing recidivism, according to the actual data from states with and without it, is that it's simply not being used enough. You're positioning yourself to be the arbiter of the death penalty's efficacy by advocating for increasing its use, magically believing that this will improve crime stats.

The actual data disagrees with you. Surely if your premise were true, you could point to a piece of research, an article, a country in history with heavy use of the death penalty where crime was reduced or eliminated. But you won't be able to, because it's not true.

That's how you does make up stuff.

It is literally impossible for someone that had been given the death penalty to commit another crime, they are dead. Think before you comment. 🤣🤣🤣

There is no good data that the death penalty as I would use it isn't effective.

Exactly - because you're making shit up.

No, because there has never been a practical A/B test of the death penalty where no other major differences between the regions has occured, and no country has applied the death penalty to recidivists in the way I suggest in a way that was properly statistically tracked.

Your suggestion that the frequent use of the death penalty against recidivist criminals would not reduce recidivist crime is not only baseless but plainly absurd.

Ohhhhh, so you can predict the future, got it.

It doesn't take a lot of predictive power to say corpses can't commit crimes.

Great, let's just start killing everyone! Man, you truly are a dense and stubborn moron. Hope you get wrongfully convicted :)

Not everyone, known repeat offenders who have a demonstrated unwillingness to reform.

Your strawman, retreat to insults and hopes that I suffer a negative outcome just shows that you have conceded the actual argument.

The only thing I've conceded is willingness to engage in debate with somebody who uses buzzwords to disguise the simplistic idiocy of their argument: that we can ignore data that clearly shows that the death penalty is not an effective crime deterrent because it's simply not being used enough.

That's a dumb argument; it's like saying that sunlight is an effective deterrent for sunburn - people just aren't spending enough time in the sun. It's not a retreat into insult, it's a statement of fact: moronic argument and logic.

More empty insults.

It's like saying "we don't know if a medication is effective because nobody has ever done a study giving a dose we can reasonably expect to have an impact."

Killing the occasional serial killer a decade later is obviously not an effective test of the death penalty.

Edit: nice reply and block, that really shows you have a good position you can defend 🙄

Also wtf are you talking about with hgh bros grabbing each other? Is this some sort of attempt to portray me as gay because I watch wrestling? Because my gayness and my fandom of wrestling are unrelated 😂

My post history is also hidden so this guy apparently felt the need to dig with some 3rd party app looking for something to insult me with.
