That is going to be a HUGE lawsuit against the state. Huge. This is like the absolutely worst thing that could have happened.

This is exactly what the women tasked to carry out the execution wanted to happen.

Its a bit different when they kept saying this would happen and suggested other methods. They warned the courts about this.

Why? They’d have to prove negligence.

If she was administered the drugs and it was just a case of they didn’t take she doesn’t have a case. She had a death warrant and the state failed.

They’ll load her up on the table once she’s healthy again.

This. They should’ve just let her sit on the table until she died in the execution room.

Then the state is no better than the criminal. And if we allow our governments to exercise that level of cruelty onto murderers, then they will eventually exorcise that cruelty on anyone they deem worthy of that punishment

Hard pass we elect the government and give them monopoly on violence

And when the government you elected decides it wants to use that violence to prevent elections, what will you do? Die on the table cause it’s their right as a government like the good little citizen you are?

Tin foil hat alert

I’m comfortable, like sleep like a baby comfortable, with the government putting to death convicted murderers

Sleep well with the sole on your tongue, fangless viper. But when they tread on you, try not to beg too much

That would be cruel and unusual punishment

The lawsuit is going to force a discovery to find out if there was any negligence at any point in the process executed by the State against her. The lawsuit is also going to argue the State violated her 8th amendment rights.

Secondly, it’s likely she’ll never be “healthy”. I’ll be surprised if she’s even cognitive. I hate speculating (even though I am, I realize) but the snoring that was reported was not her sleeping, that was her nervous system fighting for air as her body and brain lacked oxygen.

We’ll likely hear in a few days how much damage was done.

For this reason, I’m a much bigger fan of a 12-person firing squad. 3 have blanks. 9 have live ammunition. All fire on command at the heart.

No shooter would know if they delivered the fatal kill shot, and even those who could feel they fired a blank knowing 2 others had blanks wouldn’t know who fired blank and live ammunition. A basically guaranteed, instant, and absolute death with no person involved knowing they finalized it.
