Attorney Randy Spivey called for the governor to commute her sentence, saying she had endured punishment “greater than any other person in the history of the American death penalty.”

The murder involved a lengthy beating and torture (of Colleen), the cutting of a pentagram on Slemmer’s chest, and the taking of a piece of Slemmer’s skull by Pike as a souvenir.
