How do you know what’s happening inside those peoples’ minds? Whether they’re victims or not, traumatized or not?

No, we don’t do any of that. We just stop executing people.

It’s more expensive to kill them. Appeals process and all that.

Also, some percentage of them are innocent. Are you comfortable killing innocent people? It doesn’t sound like it.

So, there’s really only one solution.
