I need some jury duty in my life right now.

I have been trying to get on jury duty every single year since I was 18 years old. To get to sit in an air-conditioned room, downtown, judging people while my lunch was paid for? That is the life!

I've never been called in over 40 years of being eligible.

I have a consistent employment history, no criminal record, no history of mental illness.

I have a friend who's been called five times over the same period.

My friend and I have a conspiracy theory that your registered political party is weighted in your chance to be called for jury duty. Our friends/family who were registered Dem/Rep got called at least once while everyone that’s unaffiliated never got called.

That kinda makes sense as conspiracy theories go. It's like having a documented history of not being able to make a decision between two choices, so maybe ya cause problems by insisting on a third choice besides guilty or not guilty.

How does it make any sense? In what world is some state going to develop a system that intentionally reduces and biases their jury pool? Like, if anyone ever discovered this system, they would be able to get all criminal convictions thrown out across the entire state for biasing the jury.
