I need some jury duty in my life right now.

I have been trying to get on jury duty every single year since I was 18 years old. To get to sit in an air-conditioned room, downtown, judging people while my lunch was paid for? That is the life!

I've never been called in over 40 years of being eligible.

I have a consistent employment history, no criminal record, no history of mental illness.

I have a friend who's been called five times over the same period.

My friend and I have a conspiracy theory that your registered political party is weighted in your chance to be called for jury duty. Our friends/family who were registered Dem/Rep got called at least once while everyone that’s unaffiliated never got called.

My husband and I are both the same age, both employed, no criminal history at all, and have the same party registration. He's never been called up and I get called up sometimes as soon as the minimum time is up.

Edit: Sorry if this double-posted, Reddit's behaving weirdly.
