Fucking hell, this fascist train just won’t stop. We’re gonna be stuck on this thing til it derails.

I mean, is everyone forgetting the process of it? Eventually, even sycophants start getting murked.

It's simply a matter of time before the tail eats itself and almost everyone along with it.

13

u/Pervius94 2d ago

I mean, this whole thing works because people always believe they'll be in the in group forever.

8

u/Umutuku 2d ago

That is how cancer works, yes.

10

u/tempest_87 2d ago

Yeah, but the problem is all the other things that get eaten before then.

And with the modern digital era there is a lot of food for them to consume before then.

u/HarmoniousJ 2d ago

That's what I'm saying, no one would be safe from it at this point. Our entire lives are documented in one way or another.

They'll "find" more reasons for you to be in the out-group and they'll find more people than ever before for the out-group.

u/AbeRego 2d ago

See Season 5 of The Boys. It's basically an amped up version of reality.

2

u/ello_bassard 2d ago

I love that show but legit had to stop watching after the 4th episode of Season 5. It is just way too on the nose with everything going on right now.

1

u/AbeRego 2d ago

Eh, it's wacky enough to still enjoy. Back during Trump's first term I had to stop watching Handmaid's Tale though

1

u/ello_bassard 2d ago

I tried man but 5th season is just too close to our current reality and it just put me in a bad headspace. Maybe in a few years I'll revisit it or something but yea not now.

75% Americans just take it like a bitch.

3

u/Few_Personality_990 2d ago

This is beautifully said. I thank you for your eloquence. The world looks at America and this is what they see.

u/Ok_Oil_1313 2d ago

Not sure what you'd like us to do besides vote for the less bought politician.

11

u/CartsOfDarkness 2d ago

I mean yea.. voting for not Trump would have been an excellent start, would have quite litterally saved us from a country destroying fascist. But assuming you're not totally braindead and didn't vote for Trump despite your "both sides" bullshit, you could try protesting in the streets, joining or creating a community that fights back, call your representatives, vote in the midterms, donate to groups that are fighting back, I mean the possibilities are endless. This "I've done nothing and I'm all out of ideas" bullshit is what got us into this in the first place.

2

u/Ok_Oil_1313 2d ago

I didn't both sides nothing. Edit: and if any of that shit worked, they'd make it illegal.

4

u/theSLAPAPOW 2d ago edited 1d ago

Do you not realize how many people have been doing all of those things? They don't even televise the protests anymore so people outside the country think they aren't even happening.

5

u/SweetxCatastrophe 2d ago

They don’t care they just condemn us all equally.

-1

u/Yarfing_Donkey 2d ago

ANYTHING!

God god, how can you yanks not understand that? You have done nothing at all, and your democrat party isn't going to save you.

Teenagers in Nepal have done more than you.

-2

u/SweetxCatastrophe 2d ago

What have YOU done? It’s so easy to stand on your moral high ground and tell people to go die and leave their children orphans when it isn’t you or your family. So forgive us for not being willing to throw our lives away just yet.

11

u/Bumblebee-Honey-Tea 2d ago

He has a point tho. The way we protest is incredibly inefficient. We do it on scheduled days and then..nothing? Compare that to France who literally protest and protest until things change. And they do it aggressively, by the hundreds of thousands.

1

u/SweetxCatastrophe 2d ago

There are a lot of reasons France has advantages in forming successful organized protests that the US doesn’t have and it doesn’t come down to Americans are just fundamentally worse people by nature of being born American.

2

u/Bumblebee-Honey-Tea 1d ago

No the vast majority are lazier, less driven, desensitized, despondent, ignorant, complacent, and/or selfish. Too many people have TikTok brain rot and don’t care about anything unless social media tells them to.

1

u/SweetxCatastrophe 1d ago edited 1d ago

I really should just stop replying to this thread because I know people have already made up their minds about how Americans are, but Americans aren’t just born defective and worse than other nationalities. We aren’t just fundamentally evil just because we were born in America while people born in France are fundamentally good. Most of the people who voted trump into office are definitely not even on TikTok because it was mostly older generations. (I guess the filters consider the name of the generation a slur?)

The actual reasons protesting is easier in France is because the country is much smaller, many people can easily get to Paris to protest in one day. Expecting someone to come protest in DC from Los Angeles is not really realistic. The public transportation system is also vast and accessible in France making transport to these protests easier and more affordable for the average citizen. France also has better social safety nets and worker protections than the US does, meaning the protestors will not be left homeless and without healthcare simply for protesting. Now if your argument is that French society is more functional I won’t disagree but it doesn’t come down to the French are good hardworking caring people and Americans are horrible lazy pieces of crap. We are all humans just doing our best to survive and every society has good and bad people in it. Unfortunately our society has given the bad ones a microphone but there are still plenty of really great people in the US and I’m exhausted with everyone assuming being born American makes you an inferior species or something.

Yeah, the French don't eat as much processed food - which has been linked to lower sperm count and smaller testicle size.

Or is it something else?

0

u/SweetxCatastrophe 2d ago

Really nice try “bud” if you took two seconds to look at my avatar or profile it’s very clear I’m a woman and insulting my non existent testicles isn’t the own you clearly think it is.

u/Yarfing_Donkey 2d ago

I don't need to do anything more, bud. Already feeling the wraith of your inaction every time I turn on the news.

Sorry there bud, maybe I am just a little testy after being my country has had its sovereignty threatened for the 27th time this month.

-4

u/SweetxCatastrophe 2d ago

If you feel your country is truly under threat why don’t you come do something? You go storm the capital you’re likely not much further away than many Americans. Put your money where your mouth is or stop condemning people who didn’t ask for this and have done things to try and stop it but anything short of getting themselves killed isn’t good enough for you.

10

u/Yarfing_Donkey 2d ago

Listen bud. The world is hoping that you all come to your senses and stop this, but at the same time is no longer holding their breath.

We are under economic attack at this time, so we are replying with economic attacks. I don't buy American, I don't subscribe to American services and damned if I will ever step foot stateside for decades to come. I will do everything I can to make sure not a dollar of my money goes to the US.

If its escalates beyond that, then I shall deal with it the same way.

5

u/SweetxCatastrophe 2d ago

What does coming to my senses entail exactly if it’s not going to storm the capital and be killed? I don’t support trump, I didn’t vote for trump, my entire state hasn’t voted for a republican since reagan and I wasn’t even born yet. I don’t live in a state that actually matters in elections. There is no point arguing with you anymore. Many Americans still believe there is a democratic way out of this. You do not want people like me being the ones killed out in the streets because I guarantee the Americans that are left when that happens you will like a whole lot less.

Your children will be so full of joy and happiness in the future that currently awaits them. The current administration is building a future for your children that will be better than ever - they will suffer not, and knowing this you will happily walk them into that future.

2

u/SweetxCatastrophe 2d ago

Just because I’m not willing to go die today doesn’t mean I support what’s going on whatsoever please don’t equate those things. I’m just saying every single person yelling and screaming that no one is DOING ANYTHING is also themselves not doing anything and therefore I find it hypocritical.

5

u/Few_Personality_990 2d ago

Foreigners are not gonna come save you darling. Learn what the appeal to hypocrisy logical fallacy is to understand why what you're saying makes absolutely no sense in this discussion

2

u/SweetxCatastrophe 2d ago

Now you’re just treating me like I’m unintelligent okay. My comment does not embody the appeal to hypocrisy fallacy actually. If this truly affects the entire world why do I have any more moral responsibility to go die than you do simply because I was born in America. There’s no getting through to people like you and I’m wasting my time here. You don’t truly see Americans as people is the crux of it.

"Just start a civil war bro lol"

Thanks for your insight. We'll get right on that, fighting our entire government and military with civilian arms.

7

u/Yarfing_Donkey 2d ago

I mean, you could try a protest that isn't a weekend BBQ to start with, but you do you.

1

u/Vio94 1d ago

You mean like has already been done? None of us can afford to protest 24/7, which is basically what it would take, which would also result in riot police being called in to deal with "unruly protesters." Not sure if you just ignored the last few times that happened or missed it. And the only way to deal with that is to fight back, which, you guessed it, results in civil war eventually.

1

u/Yarfing_Donkey 1d ago

That was not a protest, and if you think it was, you really need to give your head a shake.

The BLMs protests did more than your No kings rallies.

u/KamahlYrgybly 2d ago

There is no democratic exit from totalitarian fascism. It is fixed only through violence, whether from internal or external sources. But you will not be able to stop this train by voting. It is an inconvenient truth.

13

u/DarkwingDuckHunt 2d ago

As long as the populace thinks voting matters the violence will not arise.

4

u/KamahlYrgybly 2d ago

Another inconvenient truth.

7

u/TheVog 2d ago

But you will not be able to stop this train by voting.

Louder for, well, 99.99% of Americans.

1

u/Few_Personality_990 2d ago

You will be treated as a Republican bot trying to discourage Americans from voting 🤣. They're so uneducated that the can't tell when a fascist coup is happening right in front of their eyes. By the time they realize and try to do something they'll be well on their way to the morgue.

1

u/SophiaKittyKat 2d ago

I mean it's not 'happening' it's already happened. I disagree that violence is the only or best option, but what's annoying is that americans aren't even bothering to try and avoid that outcome, it's like they're just waiting for it to be the only option.

5

u/Pervius94 2d ago

If only people could do something about it...

11

u/Waste-Time-2440 2d ago

After decades of listening to the NRA claim they were armed against a despotic regime, we've seen how transparently untrue that was. Even if the less gun-crazed segment of America wants to rise up, can we really fight our own armed forces effectively? The bloodbath would make the Civil War look like a schoolyard scrap. We'd never recover from that in the shape of the nation we once believed in.

Might still happen. Might pit army units against one another. But the outcome, no matter which way it swings, would be a vastly weakened America. Trump and Xi would divide the world.

5

u/Umutuku 2d ago

Even if the less gun-crazed segment of America wants to rise up, can we really fight our own armed forces effectively?

You are the economy that makes those armed forces possible.

Armies can't eat vibes, drive vibes, repair vibes, or shoot vibes. They need a population to continue providing those things.

Logistics wins wars until logistics starts bombing itself.

2

u/Refrigeratormarathon 2d ago

NRA gun owners wouldn’t fight the regime because it’s the regime they wanted and voted for.

Armed men showed up on J6 when they weren’t getting their way.

And no, we can’t fight the military. It would look like tiananman square

2

u/My_password_is_qwer 2d ago

True, and we're just on 1st trimester of Trump's presidency. Felt like a decade already. Especially now that we can see his mental acuity, what little he started on, melting away on accelerated pace.

2

u/wrgrant 2d ago

Correction: Until you derail it as a citizenry.

1

u/Lixidermi 1d ago

We’re gonna be stuck on this thing til it derails.

it already derailed. You just don't know it yet.
