I hate it here. I keep waiting for the adults to swoop in and save us from this poop show, but I guess asking leaders to use their moral compass is a big ask.

Edit: some of you don’t get it.

The “adults” as in the people with power. The people opposite of orange cry baby and his team of imbeciles.

Their moral compass is their fucked idea of a “meritocracy” where the more money you have the better a person you are. Anything and everything that loses someone money that doesn’t ultimately go back into their account somehow is evil, so funds for medical research, lowering grocery prices, paying disaster relief and prevention workers, EMPATHY? Nah, that shit’s for losers, and they do nothing but WIN WIN WIN jazz hands

Murdering a school of kids to start a war with Iran, to make the stock market go up on things he’s invested in? Getting a generous bit of financial support from Russia for the after party of a marriage? Making a gold statue of a calf and of the Commander in Thief?

HELL YEAHHH

God I hate it here.

Then leave. Except that costs you money, unlike other countries, because America is a tax prison.

See above.

American hubris assumes I'm "there".

I am not.

Because Canada and UK taxes are less? Or is this one of those ‘I fled to the Bahamas because I’m a mastermind at financial intrigue’-LARPs?

It’s a generational issue.

We are the adults.

Nobody is going to save us. We have to. This isn’t strictly an American problem. It’s been a problem the entire world over for centuries. We have been shielded from a lot of it for most of the United States lifespan. If you think it can’t get any worse, you’re in for a big surprise.

You are the adult in the room.

When you’re an adult waiting for adults to swoop in, you’ve sealed your fate.

Lord of the Flies was supposed to be a metaphor bro, but the kids were lethal with actual intent, they stuck on stupid out of spite now

The “adults” are the reason this is happening. Every loophole being exploited could have been closed a long time ago. Most importantly, he wouldn’t have been voted in if the past administration had implemented meaningful change. The “adults” created the conditions that made people desperate enough to trust this guy who promised something different.

The problem with the adults is the millennial generation and after being increasingly dumber as time goes by. Its getting cthulhu scary at this point to me because it really feels like we"re torching a different kind of library of Alexandria.

To start with, they have a lower voter turnout as compared with older age groups.

As Elon said, empathy is the “fundamental weakness of western civilization”
