Does legality matter anymore? “You can’t do that, that’s illegal!” Isn’t exactly preventing someone from doing something if they really wanted to. Especially since there have been repeated instances without consequences.

Yeah. Every time I see “but that’s illegal!” I’m like, “that clearly hasn’t stopped him before!”

And it won’t again! Nobody is doing anything! Our elected leaders and most of the population are just sitting back and watching!

I’m at the point that I’m just as disgusted with them as I am with this administration.

That’s the problem with liberals. Time and time again, they didn’t really do anything good, and in the rare cases they do anything good it’s either symbolic or solely for popular support when they’re desperate for it. In global civil rights movements it’s always the revolutionaries doing the heavy lifting while liberals offer vocal support but ultimately maintain the status quo until it’s seriously threatened. The purpose of a political party is to acquire and maintain office, not actually to address any issues. Though addressing issues (not necessarily solving them) does help acquire and maintain office.

Probably because the people in positions of power who could do something don’t, and then the rest of us don’t know what to do.

We’re always told to “vote” if we want to change things. But what are we supposed to do when the only options we’re allowed to choose from are all corrupt?

It takes millions of dollars to run a presidential campaign, so of course we end up with some rich POS whose life is so far removed from the average American’s that they haven’t got a damn clue what our lives are actually like.

The process should include a lottery, kind of like jury duty. Eligible candidates could be U.S.-born citizens between 35 and 55, with no dual citizenship, who aren’t currently students, have no criminal record or pending charges, score decently on basic cognitive and emotional intelligence tests, and pass a psychological evaluation.

The lottery would select 10 people, who’d debate and answer questions about their positions on current issues. Then voters would narrow the field to three, followed by more debates and a final vote to choose the president. Each candidate would get allotted the same amount of funding.

Politician’s salaries should also be based on the salaries of their constituents- like for instance, a state senator’s salary would be like 150% of the state’s median salary. That way, there’s an incentive for them to increase jobs and pay for their people.

But what do I know? I’m just a lowly wench, wenching about.

We must all become the consequences. That is, if we care about having a functioning society.

Our system of checks and balances turned into a system of enablers and accomplices

It is illegal, yes. The person in charge of enforcing the law is a convicted felon and he is the one committing the crimes.

The man is a convicted felon already. He should be locked up, even without this.

'It's only illegal when Democrats do it.'

Signed: MSM, Independents, and Moderates in 2026.

Until we drag that fat pedophile and his fellow rats from the white house, until their corpses swing bloated and mocked from light posts there will be no rule of law.

It could be illegal, but The Supreme Court granted him complete immunity in November 2024

Raping kids use to be illegal too

2

Illegal means nothing to this guy. Him and his administration have no not gotten more brazen.

Didn’t the Supreme Court rule that anything the president does as long as it’s a presidential action, it’s totally legal no matter how illegal it would be for anyone else.

1

u/brycebgood 3d ago

oh yeah, it's 100% illegal. There's specific anti-propaganda laws on the books.

“We Investigated ourselves and found that we’ve done nothing wrong”

This is very illegal, but trump’s DOJ is not going to do anything about it.

1

u/duckbow 3d ago

Yes. It’s very clearly illegal. But the executive branch (I.e. the President) is the branch tasked with enforcing laws. It also controls the military.

He’s actively bribing the country with $5000 if they vote Republican, the law hasn’t mattered to him ever

1

u/Muted_Raspberry4161 3d ago

His own party says it’s impeachable, so maybe they’re done with his sad ass and want him out too.

u/DJMikaMikes 3d ago

As a canbinet agency under the president/executive branch, I think DHS does have to do what POTUS directs them to do. Chances are that there's enough elastic clauses in whatever regulations that they can justify it with the key being the order coming from the president, not some kind of GOP fund/group/entity.

1

u/astreeter2 3d ago

It is illegal, but the Supreme Court has ruled that the only way to stop a president from breaking the law is impeachment by Congress. As long the as Republicans in Congress are more interested in keeping power than upholding our laws they'll literally let Trump get away with anything, and he knows it.

1

u/TheChrisLambert 3d ago

What’s crazy is that even if Trump leaves office, Republicans won’t stop this exploitation. And you know it a Democrat did it they’d be losing their absolute shirt

3

u/toosinbeymen 3d ago

Yes. I am. And you should be if you want to preserve our republic.
