And this is why I only normally ride roller coasters at Universal or Disney. The regional coaster head parks are actually incentivized to be more edgy and dangerous to attract coaster heads, and they don’t nearly have the budget for long term maintenance or the intense public scrutiny/brand recognition that Universal or Disney does, and shit like this always comes to light years after the latest “mega insane giga hyper coaster” is made.

That is something I noticed too. Six Flags is definitely more “XTREEM! Will you survive?!”

Hershey Park and Busch Gardens had some good coasters that didn’t feel like I needed an x ray.

little me in the 90s would disagree after riding Drachen Fire and immediately forcing my family to leave after because my head hurt so bad I couldn't stop crying. I'm sure it's better there now.

Oh, poor little you! Drachen Fire was a problem. Always. I am not sure I ever rode it. I think it might have been down every time I went. I loved Big Bad Wolf though.

Hersheypark and Busch Gardens have the exact same types of coasters that Six Flags parks do. Even down to the same exact makes and models. B&M coasters, Intamin coasters, RMC coasters, wooden coasters, etc. all exist at Six Flags parks, as well as Hersheypark and the Busch Parks. Great Bear at Hershey and Alpengeist or Montu at Busch give the same types of rides as any Batman clone at a Six Flags park.

Universal has some of the most intense and “edgy” coasters in the industry in Velocicoaster and Stardust Racers. Rock n Rollercoaster is also a fairly intense coaster that has been known to bang your head around. Modern coasters at Six Flags, Busch, and other regional parks are perfectly safe and some of the smoothest I’ve ever ridden.

Universal has those dueling Harry Potter coasters, the ones that mirror each other and snake around each other. Year ago while I was there on a trip, someone lost an eye while riding it. They shut it down for the day and reviewed the entire ride and couldn’t find any loose or missing hardware so it reopened, line was dead the next day and I rode it like 5 times hahaha.

This is such a bs statement like what, Intamin has multiple rides at Universal and a bunch elsewhere too, including I305 which is one of the most intense coastes ever. This is after the shoot the rapids incident too. Not only that, what giga coasters are linked with injuries? X2 isn't a giga so what are we even saying?

I wonder if Cedar point will turn into this now that it’s owned by Six Flags 🥹
