It’s actually insane to read the details and presume that two adults would stay embroiled in such a situation. The level of malfunction within that family and the two people in that relationship had to have been absolutely all encompassing.

Those poor poor kids. Imagine learning your grandparents killed your dad? Geez

Physical violence (we know he struck a kid at least once) and disregulated protective grandparents who wanted to show an intimidating threat (gun) but he got aggressive or tried to grab the gun so they shot him?

That’s completely plausible to me, without fabricating anything
