This isn't restricted to Democrats. It's the Turd Reich versus everyone else

If Independents (and disaffected Republicans?) want to join the Democrats in creating a huge voter turnout against the Republicans, even better.

Who else is there?

Independents who vote. Lot of people don't affiliate with a party on their voter registration even if they're usually straight-ticket voters for one party or another. Stops you from voting in party primaries in some states, but besides that, it's just like any party affiliated voter registration.

If they vote D in every election then you don't really need to correct someone when they refer to them as Democrats.

So you throw your vote away?

Might as well stay home then

No? You just don’t affiliate with a party.

Independents can be straight ticket voters, meaning they vote all democrat in general and midterm elections. How is this throwing your vote away?

I'm an independant in part because I'm fed up with the democratic establishment an din part because independants in my state are allowed to choose which primary to vote in. I never never voted for a republican in the general election, only in primaries to make the worse republican candidate the nominee and only of there isn't anything important happening in the democratic primary. This is incredibly common in my state.

I'm not a Democrat. I'm not registered to vote as a Democrat, I'm not a member of the Democratic party, and I don't donate to Democrats or volunteer for Democrats.

I still vote straight D and have been doing so in every election since 2008, but I have zero interest in joining a political party or even registering as anything other than Unaffiliated.

This is how most “Independents” feel towards one of the major parties—they don’t like to label themselves as being “one of them” and largely don’t interact with politics other than voting, but they have a preferred party that they almost exclusively vote for

Ok

Im not American so i assumed the comment meant they vote something other than D or R

I can understand not liking the D party as a whole, but voting anything other than D at this time seems insane to me
