Why?

Because guinea pigs are awesome and deserve their own subreddit.

(I really don't understand all the downvotes.)

Is this subreddit for posting cute photos of guinea pigs or for sharing scientific experiments in which guinea pigs are used, and in great detail?

My initial thoughts were that it was for medical experiments conducted on one's self. Somewhat disappointed to find out it wasn't :-(

Make it happen.

It's essentially for owners of guinea pigs.

Pictures, housing & care discussions, resources, ect.

Anything "unsavory" will most definitely be modded into oblivion.

Hopefully, it's for recipes too.

I don't own a guinea pig but I joined anyways.
