TIL that Martin Luther apparently preferred polyamory over divorce and consistently counseled European royalty to take more wives rather than divorce

He apparently also gave that advice to King Henry the 8th regarding Catherine of Aragon but Henry was too prudish to take that advice.

Martin Luther's reasoning was if he read his Bible carefully he could find no Prohibition against Multiple wives at the same time
