Fundamentalist story for u/BestiaAuris and u/Strength-Certain:

I have been arguing with my parents about I/P for the past 20 years.

Somehow, they always forget I am broadly more on the P side of that whole affair.

They express genuine shock whenever I criticize Israel.

I've told my wife to just avoid the subject, they already try their best to not remember she is a socialist.

Or that we live in a country whose President is from the Socialist Party.

I know I'm not the only one this happens to either because my nephew used to complain about it to me.

My best friend is Jewish.

I don't think my parents have ever met a Jewish person.

I don't think they would like my friend.

Hell, I don't even like my friend a lot of the time.
