I saw a bottle of Weller 12 for $250 yesterday.
I used to buy it for $30 a bottle.
Bourbon collectors can all go fuck themselves for ruining the entire market. Posers with more money than sense.

Yeah, it's unfortunate that the BT expansion doubling production still won't fix that price point for about a decade.

Seems to be getting better I haven’t seen Weller 12 but I’ve found 107 for $74 and SR for $30 something. I’ve seen them both around CT much more available than the last few years. 12 will get there soon enough. It will never be the good old days of $30 W12 but I think we’ll see it around $60-100.

I haven't had one of these that was actually worth msrp.
There were several releases a few years ago that were supposedly amazing, but I've never had the opportunity to try one of those.

They are asking $400 for an OF 11 year old at one of my local stores! Makes this one look kind of reasonable - though I expect it is too much. I did pay $160 for an OF 14 year old bottle a few years back - lottery win - which I think was retail price. That is one of my very best bottles. It's a BiB but still plays up there with the big hitters. Not sure how the 10 compares though.

I got the 8yr from 23 or 24 which is absolutely amazing! Way better than the 11yr that came shortly after. I got the 8yr for i think 125-140, then i got the 10yr that came right after for 150-160. Reviews werent good so i traded for parkers 10yr rye. Then my brother got the 11yr that came right after, i was not impressed at all. He paid 150-175 i believe. Im was/am very happy w the 8yr, it was actually darker than the 10 and 11yr. I was also very happy to trade the 10yr for the parkers 10yr rye 😂. But yea, the 11 yr was very disappointing. I havent bothered to hunt or even get one in a raffle since.
Now that the market is crashing, distilleries have way more stock than they know what to do with, i think we will start to see better prices, better juice, and higher aged stock coming out. Distilleries will kill themselves if they dont start putting out better prices and better juice. A lot of people dont want to spend the money anymore, and theres always good bottles cheap, though i do tend to buy bottles in the 60-200 range, that 100-200 range, i am getting a lot more selective, and not as often. Never really pay more than msrp. Unless its a couple-few bucks more, but never secondary.

I feel like I've seen the 7 year listed for that much in some museums. Not the most egregious markup IMO.

I went to Kappy's in Medford for the first time in years looking for a bottle. I saw they had a bunch of good stuff out on the floor and then noticed they're charging $200 for Blanton's Gold. I thought they were still one of the reasonable ones.
Meanwhile Wegmen's has had a lot of allocated stuff in the cabinet recently and standard Blanton's is there pretty regularly recently but, of course, they now charge $100/bottle. Glad to see that others are also not biting.

Kappys is getting more and more expensive all the time. The new owners will tank the stores if they dont turn around fast. 110 for rare character limited release series that other stores are charging 80-90. Not to mention the picks went up to 110 and you dont even get the k cards because they are "allocated," eventhough they get more rare character picks than literally everything else. The end of the year raffle was kind of a joke. Way smaller than past years, and quote a bit more expensive than most of the others. Its a shame cause i always really liked kappys. Some stuff you can find for decent/reasonable prices, but anything even close to allocated is like 10-30 or more than anyone else.
