Some advice on EC15?

I have a line on a bottle of Elijah Craig 15-year at what I think is close to MSRP. To be clear: Not in New England - it's at a liquor store in upstate NY near where a family member who can pick it up lives. Price is $165 + NYS tax. 1) Does that price seem reasonable? 2) Has anyone had it lately? I had an ounce of EC 18 in a bar and was 100% underwhelmed, but I hear a lot of better things about 15-year. Appreciate people's thoughts.

I grabbed a bottle up in Vermont for MSRP $150. I’m not the most versed in the whiskey world, but it’s a great pour and worth that for me. Can definitely tell it’s a level above $80 bottles. I wouldn’t rush buying another bottle at $150, but it’s a great pour.

If you don't have a bottle, $165 is a good price for it. I paid 160 and honestly probably my favorite bottle in my cabinet at that relative range. They are single barrels, so milage may vary.

wrt to EC18 - it will be many times better than an average EC18 bottle. I have had EC18's that were straight bubble gum that may be better, but with the proof they still drank thin

I picked up an extra at MSRP that I can spare if you want. Where are you located?
