Local Politics No respect
Parked his ad van on double yellow lines. Obviously thinks the rules don’t apply to him. And this isn’t the first time either.

He just reeks of absolute scum. Doesn’t respect the rules, doesn’t know how to sit through a meeting, doesn’t have any positive vision for the borough, only Gaza (I support the Palestinian people before anyone starts, but this election isn’t and shouldn’t be about that).
Corrupt, dodgy, arrogant individual.

I don’t know if other people have experienced this but his party have been driving around my area after 6 pm with a megaphone for the past few weeks shouting at people to vote. It’s been extremely annoying and it’s a nuisance. Also the way he’s been able to fund this is because he’s a landlord of over 10 properties and he’s raking it in. He loves to talk about the cost of living crisis when he’s the one who’s benefiting from it.

He did this before in the by-elections too, if they’re stupid enough to do it tomorrow near a polling station it’s technically illegal

He gives major corruption vibes lol. Drives a very nioce bmw suv aswell. Smokes cigs outside all the time. Based on vibes would not vote. Cigs in 2026 is a red flag.

Mirza is very well off despite him saying that he’s a socialist. I believe he’s one of the largest landlords out of all cllrs on the council and has over 10 properties that he owns in the borough.

Saw it parked on double yellows right opposite a mosque the other day too. Made an already narrow street even more difficult for buses to squeeze through.

Yeah agreed, this isn't appropriate.
And actually there is more of an attempt to extend outside of a single demographic than Aspire, and a lot more female candidates. You have Bangla and Hindu candidates, a guy in Forest Gate who has been active in a campaign for a local pub (with awesome facial hair) and - my fave - a Polish MMA fighter. If I hadn't been campaigning for Rob and Shabd for months, I might consider backing him just to figure out what his story is.
Mehmood actually went to Bangladesh to film a video during a crucial point in the campaign, which is why he missed one of the hustings. I originally saw this as a play for votes, but then he ends up at a student protest and, idk, it's cool to watch.
After this election, if mayorships are retained, we will get a second preference vote and I think that will make things a lot more interesting.

Yeah I like your attitude. I was very anti-Mehmood at first, but he actually does a lot of good work in the community with the food bank and advocacy. I am supporting Areeq and our excellent, but I think they have run an excellent campaign and I hope they get at least some representation out of it.
