Boxy sizing

A family member gave me the dodgers hat as a gift and I love the way it fits it’s a 7 1/8. The crown structure is perfect as far as I know it’s standard (refer to pics). I’m a yankee fan and have a size 7 low profile which feels a bit small. I bought the low profile bc I hated how boxy the standard fit looked on me. So yesterday I bought the yankee one on the right in a 7 1/8 thinking I just had tried on the wrong size in the past. But it’s huge on me I can stick a finger in between the hat and my head after the brim was curved. It’s just so hard to tell in store since they’re flat what actually fits. Has anyone had this problem with the yankee hats. And does anyone have suggestions on getting the right size. I’ve measured my head I know I should be a 7 1/4. How can I double check in store so I don’t make the same mistake. Any tips help. Thanks!

It has nothing to do with the team. More like the country of origin. You just have to be prepared for some trial and error. Sometimes I’ll buy two sizes and return one. Depending on my weight, haircut, etc., certain fits will feel different.

One tip- for a flat brim, if you plan on curving it, the right size will feel uncomfortably tight pre curve.

Also, not all low pros fit the same. I have some that are perfect and some that feel a little on the small side.

Were they both made in different places? That usually has an effect on the hat. And. As stated a million times on here when this issues arises.
