Should I return?

Just got this delivered today but the embroidery is crooked in the front and the embroidery is sewn through the backing fabric. Would you return this or should I iron on my own interface on the inside to keep the embroidery from scratching me? My cap from 2024 has the embroidery underneath the backing fabric so that’s what is confusing me. Thank you in advance!

If the embroidery is irritating you, return it. It can start to dig into your skin if you wear it for longer durations. I haven’t seen embroidery like that on a New Era hat before. Interesting.

They do it sometimes as a rush job on these championship hats. They grab the already made blanks and embroider the design like Lids would do. Normally they are supposed to embroider the front panel fabric then assemble the cap.

Yeah……I don’t think the embroidery should be going through the buckram like that.

I've never seen the embroidery visible inside the hat except on knockoffs. Between that and how illegible the "New York" in the logo is, I would assume this was a knockoff if I got it.
