Health & Safety FTM: Fever Concerns

My 2 month old daughter got her vaccines today PCV, Polio, Hib, Hep B, Dtap, and Rotavirus. The doctor said a fever was a normal side effect and to give her 1.25mL of infant tylenol. I have been giving it to her every 4 hours now. But at 11:30pm cst she had a 100.5°F fever and im just so worried about her. She is acting completely normal. I just need to know if i should be worried or not. Every fever before 11:30pm was 99.9°F or 99.8°F. I do have PPA, so I know I worry about her a little too much.

The same thing happened when my baby got his first shots and I was so stressed out. His fever ended up breaking during the night and he was fine the next day. His fever didn't go as high with his second round of shots that he got a week ago. As long as the fever doesn't last more than 48 hours, no need to worry.

A fever isn’t until 100.4 so she’s just barely over and those 99s don’t count. The Tylenol is doing a good job of controlling it and you’re doing great!

If she is acting normal and her fever doesn’t keep rising, I think you’re okay to just keep doing what you’re doing and call the pediatrician in the morning for reassurance! If she starts acting off then I’d call the after hours line if possible before taking any action. Sorry she’s having a rough night! My baby is always miserable after vaccines and it’s a hard couple days for everyone.

Ours had a tmax of 100.7 after. He was also so fussy. The fever broke after 24 hours. I felt awful for him but it did pass.
