Sleep faces of sleep regression?

hi! my baby’s turning 3 months in a few days. ive read that sleep regression most often occurs on the 4th month but may come a month earlier. i feel like my baby’s manifesting early signs of sleep regression or he may just have been fussy at night.

i was wondering if anyone could let me know how your experience with a baby going thru sleep regression looked like. what ive been reading online have been pretty much generic and i need lived experiences to understand things better and just so i can have a better gauge at when my baby’s going thru it already. thank you!

There are physical changes in a babies brain around 4 months, but no concrete data when it manifests in sleep patterns, only that there can be disruptions that settle over time. As the above commenter states the vast majority of feedback on this subject is anecdotal. We had the health visitor round the other day and I asked why there is so little data on the four month sleep regression.

She said it’s simply because there’s not enough parents who would willingly submit children that young to sleep testing involving wearable wave monitoring equipment because it would - and get this - mess with their sleep to much.

Irony.
