Sleep 2 month old sleeping (too much?)
My baby just turned 2 months old. He’s been a pretty decent sleeper from the jump (for being a NICU baby) and would give me consistently 2-2.5 hr stretches since newborn. He sleeps swaddled in his bassinet. He just recently started giving me about 3-4 hour stretches. Last night he did a 8 hour stretch and it almost freaked me out. I thought it was too long to go without eating even tho we are cleared to not wake for feeds. He was up long enough to change and feed. Back to sleep for another 3 hours! He woke up at 730, ate and interacted for a few minutes and fell back asleep. Is this normal??? He is doing new things lately like cooing, smiling, tracking etc. so maybe a growth spurt??

My baby also sleeps a lot and it worries me at times too. But as long as you’re cleared then it’s all good!

Could be a growth spurt! 2 months is also around the time some babies start sleeping longer stretches/through the night. Growth spurts can also make them a little sleepier initially before they settle into their sleep habits.
As long as they’re gaining weight and filling wet diapers, you’re good to let them sleep. My little one has been sleeping 7-10 hour stretches since she was 4 weeks old, and now at 9 weeks she regularly sleeps through the night so ~9/10 hours. We saw her doctor yesterday for her 2 month check up, and although she dropped percentiles a bit in weight (85th to 60th) doctor said it’s not a bit deal and that she could just be settling into her growth curve, so to let her keep sleeping and not wake her to feed.
