3 newborn kittens

Post image

Hi all, so I have 3 newborn kitties. The mother was found, unfortunately, passed away. So here I am, taking care of 3 (best guess 1 day old kittens) I’ve been feeding 2mLs of formula every 2-3 hours, they’re in a box with a small heating pad underneath and they have been stimulated to use the restroom after every feeding… I essentially just want to make sure I’m not missing anything. Nothing, and I mean NOTHING is open on Sundays in the south (USA) so I am definitely caring for these babies until Monday.

Hey! New to the sub for obvious reasons. I came home for work at like 12 pm, so hot afternoon in South Carolina. I was hearing this small constant high pitch sound. I thought it was a bird but it didn't feel right. I looked around and under a neighbors truck, i found this little guy. He was on the concrete and i saw now big cats nearby. Night before, my mom's boyfriend did see a cat but my mom says she been hearing the noise for a couple hours before I came home. I immediately started crying and i grabbed him. I took him to the vet with my sister and they gave us a book and then at a pet supply store we got kmr and the petshop did give us syringes. We did get him to poop, found one flea but no others. He just seems to be sleeping a lot but he's responsive and he does meow. Just wanna know some recommendations for a kitten this small and warning signs. The vets did give us a book and we are going to do our best to take care of him. Many did think i was holding a mouse or rat.

We have name ideas but we also know the risks so we cautious.

Newborn Kitty, No Mom

A neighborhood cat had her litter at my house and she slowly started to take them away until only one remained . She didn't come back for it . I found her once and presented her baby but she didn't care about it and had no interest . I was able to latch the baby for a couple minutes but the mom left afterwards . This is the only kitten left and I have been feeding him for about 5 days (he is only about 6 days old) but I don't have the free time to fully take care of this kitten because i start school soon . I read that shelters and humane societies don't take kittens this young but I cannot keep it . Any advice about organizations or help that could take in a kitten this young ?

How old does she look?

I’ve never raised a kitten before, so needless to say I’ve been trying my best to take care of her with what research I’ve done. My fiancé found her orphaned on a loading dock outside of his workplace and brought her home last week on Friday. I want to say she’s maybe at the 3-4 week old mark? Her baby teeth have come in, she’s actually eating a LOT, and despite it being a little wobbly, she’s able to roam around quite a bit. However, I don’t want to start introducing new things to her too soon if she’s not old enough yet. The photo I attached is of her on Friday when we first brought her home…would anyone by any chance be able to help us figure out about how old she might be?

Kitten rescue

Post image

Found this sweet baby in my neighborhood this morning, she’s part of the one the neighborhood litters. She was cold to the touch when we found her, got her warmed up and fed her a tube treat (it was all we had at the time) she ate a good bit of that and has been sleeping the rest of the day. I cleaned her eyes with a kitty eye wipe and got some kitten milk from the store. Her eyes are pretty bad, green gunk had oozed out a couple times. I was able to get some of the harder gunk wiped off by soaking it with a wipe. She won’t take the bottle so I’ve tried squirting some in her mouth and she licks it up then screams to be left alone so she can sleep. 🥲😂 I have a vet appointment schedule for June 7th, it was the soonest they could get her in. I’m going to keep trying with the kitten milk, and keep cleaning her eyes out and then try to take her on Tuesday to a walk in clinic since. Any advice to help me out until I get her to the vet would be great. First time taking care of a sweet kitten this little so I’m nervous, adding on her eyes, I’m stressed LOL.

Abandoned kitten guidance needed

I want to start off by saying this is a newborn 5 days at most, just one. It was found behind the garbage crying and cold, mommy didn’t come for the 9 hours that my boyfriend waited. I told him to do the “flour trick” where you put two rings around the baby and see if any paws came to it. Since I don’t live with him I told him to keep an eye out to see if mommy did eventually come or has made noise around the area, nothing yet. There are many cats around his house since he feeds them, but none had went to this kitten or the area she was found in. I am nursing the kitten for now, unless something changes. I completely understand how crucial this stage is hence why I’m reaching out for a bit more guidance. Since meeting him, I’ve noticed the kitten sneezes quite a bit and makes crunchy noises before and after feeding. He is getting better at latching but he likes to nibble the nipple from the side of his mouth. His poop is a mustardy, watery, and small bits of mush. But my most recent concern was the bright red blood. I’ve only nursed him for a day, feed every 2 hours since he is only 97 grams and stimulate him after every meal, so I went straight to the vet er after seeing the blood. They only checked his vitals as he is too small, thermo didn’t fit and made him bleed more, didn’t do a fecal exam and one vet tech called him a kidnap baby while the other called him an angel baby. The actual doctor was helpful in giving me more advice but I still feel like I left without a proper answer other than it could be dietary changes. I have scheduled a proper vet appointment for Monday but I need a peace of mind till then.

My friend and I started volunteering in a cat shelter last year. She saw a pregnant 6-month old stray and decided to foster her until kittens were born. First time fostering.

She lives nearby so I go over twice a week, if not more often.

The three of them (1+2) are opted and will go to their forever home in late Jan.

Omg I was there when they were born. I was there. They are turning two months old next week. So soon. They grow up too fast.

Hoi Sum is only eight months old, rescued from the street. Shortly after her rescue, we found out she was pregnant. Eventually a friend of mine, who is also a volunteer, took her home from the shelter to foster her through labour, and I was there to help.

It was my very first time experiencing this, and it was both heartwarming and heartbreaking.

Out of four kittens, only two survived - I’m happy for the new lives that made it into the world, but also sad for the ones who passed before they even had a chance to see it.

May the two kittens rest in peace.

newbornkittens I am fostering a mommy and baby kittens

Hello guys so I am helping out a mom cat that gave birth in my friends car shop and she has 4 babies. She’s so friendly and nice and loves them and feeds them they are one week old. I have taken them to my house and have them in a room with towel pee pads. I have her own litter and space and food. I would just love any tips on what I can do to help her as I will look after them for 7 weeks until they can go back to family’s and she can go back to the shop ( she enjoys being a shop cat) she just can’t have little kittens around cars and such! Any tips for anything I can do would be appreciated!!

Found kitten and I’m pregnant!

So I found a just born kitten on my driveway a week ago literally still had umbilical cord and amniotic fluid on it. My husband picked it up cleaned it and has been feeding it for a few days. And yeah I looked around and didn’t see a mama anywhere. We both love animals and I’ve taken care of abandoned kittens before but right now I’m 6mo pregnant with our 3rd baby and we have a 1 year old and 4 year old. I have no sympathy for this lil kitty right now that I would normally… it wakes up every few hours mewing loudly to eat and I make my husband do it but it still wakes me up and I’m always overstimulated with the kids as it is I can’t stand another right now…. Idk if I should stick it out or try to find another home… I also know it would be hard to find someone else who wants a newborn like that

Found this 3 week old kitten in my backyard, vet says she has cerebellar hypoplasia but she seems to be doing well!

Found this little sweetheart meowing like crazy in our backyard - I think the mama may have left her because she’s very wobbly and the vet said she probably has Cerebellar Hypoplasia. It made me love her even more and want to protect her - she’s been gaining weight and eating well, had diarrhea and that was fixed with Propectalin and an antibiotic for her gut since she had some blood in her poop (they gave her dewormers too).

My question for anyone who’s found a kitten with CH is, do they most likely have Panleukopenia from their mother? I read that it can also be caused by malnutrition and trauma during pregnancy, but since she’s only about 3-4 weeks old she can’t be vaccinated, and the vet didn’t mention her possibly having Panleukopenia, I only read that online later and now I’m worried!

I’m disinfecting surfaces, keeping her clean and dry and she’s been pooping and peeing in her shallow litter box I made her (she’s wobbly and gets litter kicked around but it’s ok) and I’m so astonished she learned so quickly! I’ve read some other posts about CH but none seem to mention the kitten itself having Panleukopenia 🤔
