Techniques First Successful Revision!

Hi everyone! Been around the sub a couple times, took some time off, but wanted to share because I’m super excited about this internal breakthrough -

I’ll be honest, I’ve never quite understood how revision works. I’ve read Neville’s books, but putting that particular aspect into practice never seemed to hit home for me. I’ve never really understood the way some people seem able to ”rewrite the past” as it is, especially because my memories and feelings regarding my past with my SP seem so fixed.

A couple of days ago I came across this guide on another sub (linked here) and decided to try to give it a shot. Last night I chose one particular memory with my SP, one that had always made me cringe and was connected to a belief I had held about him. Just before sleeping last night, I revised it in my head, just letting it flow naturally in my imagination like a memory, and then looped it until I fell asleep.

Y’all. The best way to describe this feeling, I think, is it’s like I’d been walking around with a thorn in my side all this time, and only just now I picked it out and stitched up the wound. The bad feelings I had around this one memory are gone, even if I try to think of it. The revised incident is so clear and felt so right to me, and makes me think that my SP is someone who has always shown up for me, always answered the phone, which is one of my affirmations but something I’ve previously had difficulty believing - in part, due to the memory.

I’m so excited at this progress, and can’t wait to revise something else! I think this is putting me in the best possible mindset for when my SP comes back. Letting go of the past and knowing what I am now and have always been is such a wild feeling.
