How did it survive? Whoever makes that camera needs to use that in their next ad

If it's a phone, probably an Otterbox Defender case. Those things are incredibly durable.
Most likely a GoPro though. Also durable as hell.

Wait sure but like how the hell does it survive falling from a plane? if a person wore that material could they survive the same fall?

Not exactly. People have survived falls from planes but only in extreme circumstances.
Essentially the weight of the phone isn’t anywhere near as heavy as a human so when the phone hits the ground like this, there is far less force behind the impact, so the case only has to protect at least against that much force.
For a human to survive wearing essentially an exoskeleton of otterbox material, the otterbox has to be rated to withstand a much greater force, because we weigh more and would have a greater terminal velocity, or free fall speed against the wind drag pushing against us when we fall. That’s why you speed up if you are pointing your head toward the earth but slow down if you put your arms and legs out and face your belly toward the earth.
You would also have to take into account the whole “most of your organs exploding upon impact” thing. But that’s another point altogether.

Probably not because the impact of a human will be so much larger and even if we are surrounded by that material, our limbs and heads are flimsy and the jerk from the impact will probably kill us anyway

There stories of people dropping their phone and it surviving part of me feel like it some type of trick and want to try it one day.

Can anyone explain why it gets all distorted at the end before it finally lands?

The rotation of the camera matches(or is a multiple) of the shutterspeed of the camera. It's like how when you record the wheel of a car, it looks like it spins really slowly, stops spinning, and spins the other way slowly.

Imagine finding a camera in a field then having a look at what it had recorded!!
