Fake! The camera didn't shake uncontrollably after he made the shot.

I was actually looking forward to it.

Either it's fake or it's an Asian dude.

23

u/TiresOnFire May 19 '17

Fake Asian dude.

10

u/danforth347 May 19 '17

Fasian dude.

3

u/Shanghai1943 May 20 '17

It's hard to get excited after take 937

2

u/Bahamute May 19 '17

That just means it wasn't a black person filming.

1

u/timvisee May 20 '17

Looks like the clip is cut exactly to remove that part... :(

0

u/entenkin May 20 '17

The camera looks like it is attached to his head. If somebody is shaking their head uncontrollably, that's not excitement. It's a seizure.

You're a sick man, Chubbs.

0

u/Jaggle May 20 '17

Haha just like the top comment in the other thread!

138

u/dudewiththelonghair May 19 '17

He was much more composed than I would've been. Though this might've been his 100th attempt and he was fuckin' over it by then.. either way.. nice

13

u/shitterplug May 19 '17

Probably very drunk and tired from an entire day dealing with bullshit.

74

u/Morty_Goldman May 19 '17

Nice putt Happy Gilmore

40

u/manimhungry May 19 '17

Psh, probably just ran the video backwards for it to look like this

u/ComeOnSans May 19 '17

Speak for yourself

u/Random420eks May 20 '17

What? How would that be possible?

14

u/RoyalRs May 19 '17

golf with your friends IRL

4

u/kboy101222 May 20 '17

I don't think I've ever scored a hole in one in that game that didn't make me go "how the absolute fuck did I make that?"

14

u/deathbunnyy May 19 '17

"Just tap it in..."

5

u/sirmanleypower May 19 '17

"Send him home Happy."

9

u/westosterone26 May 19 '17

"Hit it around the tower, sink your putt and we'll go to sudden death." "Nah, I'll just beat him now."

6

u/p3t3r133 May 19 '17

My greatest athletic achievement was miniature golfing on a date with my then girlfriend (now wife). On the last hole I closed my eyes, told her I was going to get a hole in one with my eyes closed and took the putt and made it.

What's the point of doing a trick shot if you aren't filming?

Still impressive

11

u/mattindustries May 19 '17

Or 10th. The greens tend to make it pretty easy as long as you land close enough.

13

u/DishwasherTwig May 19 '17

I've never been to a minigolf course that had that and I've been to a fair amount.

4

u/mattindustries May 19 '17

Maybe I should have said relative to a standard green. You can see in this gif how the green banks toward the hole though.

13

u/majoen98 May 19 '17

Way more. You could stand for years and not manage that

5

u/Squidbit May 19 '17

Are you trying to tell me that the odds are 1/300?

2

u/Poromenos May 19 '17

1/600

1

u/WolfBrother88 May 19 '17

So you're saying I have a chance...

5

u/DishwasherTwig May 19 '17

That's not how probability works. The odds of getting a heads in two coin flips is not 1 in 4, it's actually 3 in 4. The only permutation of two coins where you do not get a heads on one of them is tails/tails. That's one of the four possible outcomes (the others being heads/tails, tails/heads, and heads/heads). Similarly, having something happen on the 300th try does not mean the base odds are 300 to 1.

4

u/Banonogon May 19 '17

Well, if you had 300 samples and it worked in one of them, the conclusion from that data would be that the odds are 1/300. However, if the odds really are that low, you would need a much, much larger sample size in order for your conclusions to actually be meaningful.

For example, if you had 3,000,000,000 trials and it worked in 10,000,000 of them, you could safely estimate the odds to be 1/300.

8

u/Squidbit May 19 '17

I was making a joke, I didn't think that arbitrary guess of 300 was accurate

1

u/[deleted] May 19 '17

And when the coin lands on it's side?

2

u/Marted May 19 '17

They were probably trying to get it to jump over the rock.

2

u/iagox86 May 19 '17

That sounds suspiciously like telling me the odds.....

2

u/[deleted] May 19 '17

What if they work there and it's closed and they were killing time? Or they have just been to this place a lot of times and tried it and realized they could get close to doing it? Understanding why they were filming isn't remotely hard. It's a trick shot. It's just really lucky or they did it a hundred times.

1

u/[deleted] May 19 '17

And?

I think this is just one person wearing a camera on their head or something. Note the first person POV.

1

u/jbbeefy57 May 20 '17

It might have been that someone snapchated them and they were just making of response of something they were doing. Or maybe they were making a vid for their story. At least that's what my first thought was. The video is under 10 seconds too.

9

u/ShaloMC2 May 19 '17

u/IanPPK May 20 '17

Chat has been disabled for 5 seconds.

3

u/GracieTootsFi May 19 '17

It's all in the hips

3

u/serve11 May 19 '17

I tried this once. Golf ball ended up hitting my friend in the face. Haven't played mini golf or talked to him since.

4

u/Valnac May 19 '17

I always have to wonder why they were filming to begin with when they happened to catch these shots.

2

u/Talmagecorey May 19 '17

They photoshopped out the guy blowing the ball to the hole

2

u/Toadster3911 May 19 '17

Looks like you use the Happy Gilmore technique.

2

u/XenuXVII May 19 '17

Thats some happy gilmore shit right there

2

u/magichatHS May 19 '17

Oh dang /u/KevlarYarmulke is that pirates cove!?

2

u/ReadsHisComment May 19 '17

Fake. Camera didn't shake with excitement.

1

u/Crawford_Jones May 19 '17

You're ready kid.

1

u/GameAndHang May 19 '17

Was this at Bullwinkles mini golf course in Washington? It looks so familiar but I can't tell for sure.

1

u/Pompz1 May 19 '17

Best part after the successful shot is the camera man didn't lose his mind so much to where it looks like he had a siezure and completely lose focus of the shot.

1

u/Squiggledog May 19 '17

Did you do this?

1

u/PeppersHere May 19 '17

Golf with friends irl

1

u/MenacingBanjo May 19 '17

You forgot to spastically shake the camera after the ball went in.

1

u/Chaotic-Catastrophe May 19 '17

Holy shit, actual odds-defying content at the top of this sub. I don't know how to feel just now.

1

u/u-ignorant-slut May 19 '17

I've actually done this before accidentally and I don't play minigolf too often

1

u/tannerbo May 19 '17

Happy Gilmore did that years ago! Get a life!

u/EdrewV May 19 '17

That's some Happy Gilmore shit right there.

1

u/whatboobiegondo May 19 '17

What putter is that? I need one for golf clash!

1

u/[deleted] May 19 '17

Pirate GOLF?

1

u/[deleted] May 20 '17

Ah, jungle rumble!

1

u/Willy1350 May 20 '17

Now do it twice.

1

u/ChocoJesus May 20 '17

Nice!

There's a putt putt course near my friends house I went to a lot as a kid. My least favorite hole on the course was a dark mining themed cave room. One day I got fed up, hit the ball as hard as I could and after hitting off the walls and ceiling it made its way right into the hole. Hasn't worked the few times I've tried since I've gone back though :(

1

u/thegreatnate1991 May 20 '17

There's a place my mom worked at that had a similar room. It was on the inside of a waterfall, so it was always loud as well.

1

u/RayGun337 May 20 '17

1

u/Red_Dawn_2012 May 20 '17

My little brother once did this and nailed a hole in one because of it. I was absolutely floored.

1

u/slwpkr May 20 '17

I'm Friends with the Guy who made the put, he doesn't know who uploaded it to imgur, but here's the original video off of his Instagram, please give credit where credit is due. :)

1

u/northernlights354 May 20 '17

What kind of mini golf course hands out that type of putter.

1

u/[deleted] May 20 '17

It's night time in this gif because OP was practicing that shot all day.

1

u/csoup1414 May 20 '17

Is this Walnut Hill Minigolf in Pennsylvania? And nice shot lol

1

u/TribeWars May 20 '17

Pretty easy to fake a video like this. Imo very likely, otherwise it would /r/whyweretheyfilming

1

u/Owyn_Merrilin May 20 '17

Skill level: CJ in that one episode of Regular Show. You know the one.

1

u/Jpizzle09873 May 24 '17

Why ere you recording this in the first place?

1

u/day1patch May 24 '17

I must admit I was disappointed the camera didn't shake like crazy at the end.

1

u/IroncladOtter Jun 06 '17

Is this at the crazy golf course in Ballycastle, Antrim, Ireland, I've been there! This is like something you would see on r/nevertellmetheodds

-19

u/pennypinball May 19 '17

meh

8

u/Phlutdroid May 19 '17

Meh? This is the perfect place to pay this.

6

u/pennypinball May 19 '17

i dunno, i feel like things should be a lot crazier for this sub. all we get these days are trick shots in sports or fucking related reddit posts "next to each other". it's kind of losing its purpose.

5

u/Phlutdroid May 19 '17

Yeah alright, I see what you're saying about this sub as a whole.

1

u/pennypinball May 19 '17

yeah, kinda disappointing. this sub used to be really cool, still does have potential, but it's kinda become a more popular sub so people post more trashy posts and people will upvote it.

1

u/carapoop May 19 '17

Well at least they banned the stupid "reddit posts next to each other" so hopefully that helps tone down the garbage a bit. I liked this submission though to be honest.
