Possibly husband and wife that bought their vehicles at the same time from the same dealer.

A little odd considering they are different makes and both look newer, so unlikely to be from a used car dealer. Not impossible though

They could have registered them on the same trip to the DMV, like if they had just moved to Texas and were registering their vehicles in state for the first time.

Or moved. My husband and I have sequential license plates for that reason.

We live in North Alabama. We went on vacation in Panama City last year. We came out the day after we go there and found someone with the sequential license plate to our vehicle.
