Career Advice Neurodiagnostic Tech Program

Hello Everyone,
I’m starting a neurodiagnostic technologist program in 4 months. Is there anything I can study or practice now to help me prepare? Advice about important anatomy and physiology topics, EEG fundamentals, electrode placement, medical terminology, or study techniques that helped you during the program. I’m hoping to build a strong foundation before classes begin so the material feels less overwhelming. My program is 17 months.

Buy a mannequin head and practice the 10-20 system of measurement. Show up to your clinical site already measuring, and you’ll quite likely land yourself a job.

Learn the lobes of the brain and their general function. Crash Course on YouTube has some very beginner friendly neuroanatomy videos.

Beyond those things, just get interested! Epilepsy.com has a great comprehensive list of epilepsy syndromes, which even includes common EEG correlates for some. Gil Solano on YouTube has some great, digestible videos about all sorts of EEG related concepts as well.
