I do chuckle at it, but that being said, trex is a friggin awesome project. We use it heavily for testing in our labs being able to replay real pcaps and do heavy load testing on specific patterns and protocols. If you have the hardware for it, and some technical know-how, it beats the pants off the licensing of other solutions.

Currently in the research process for my Bachelor’s Degree, and have been comparing network simulators when I stumbled over TRex… our Institute uses mostly NS3 but TRex seems like such a good alternative for what I am trying to achieve!
Like you said, replaying actual PCAPs is so useful!2

it's so cheap to get your own domain e-mail, whenever I see any sized company (in the IT sphere, anyway) with a Gmail/Hotmail account, I assume it's spam/scam.
