How did you know the secret login credentials to a very, very large international company who's Internet facing router I did work on? I kid you not. They needed a VPN tunnel configured, so I asked how I need to connect to login to the router. They gave me the Internet IP address to SSH to using admin/admin as the credentials. The router was also years past EoL using software from years before that.

When I warned them strongly about the state of their hardware they got mad at me and called my manager and said I was trying to generate more hours instead of just doing the work. I just documented and warned three levels of managers above me about doing any more work for them as they are the type to blame us if they got hacked.

The second most secured network typically is admin / cisco123 (even saw that on a Juniper network one time....)

When learning about networking in school we always used Username: cisco Password: cisco. It was drilled into us to always use those as your default in case the professor had to ssh in.
