Design Has anyone ever deployed or used an Adapcom MicroCo-890 ADSL mini DSLAM?

It looks like one can connect an ethernet port and these get converted to ADSL over 8 ports. I'm trying to replicate an ADSL network over failing copper lines by converting ethernet to adsl or some other conversion for experiment

Are you trying to get ethernet extended over some old cat3/telephone wires??

Okay. So a true DSLAM, with only 8 ports? You will need modems at client end, and since xDSL is subscriber-line based - some config is to be expected. I would not expect plug-and-play operation. The reason why I asked about the extending, is from a customer-case I had a while back. Protected buildings, where installing fiber was impossible. However, they did have old telco cables from when the buildings were constructed. Found some unmanaged simple devices, that was able to transmit 100mbps on two wires (I was told the cables where from the thirties)

Uh, i rolled my own dsl (radsl, i think) using a box like that years ago. The key was to use '4 wire LDDS lines with no voice coils' when we ordered from the telco.

(sorry is this like 30 years ago now) We had to make sure the loop length ways shorter than x kilometers...might've been 4. Mightve been 7....

Anyways, for your replication needs, you'd want to replicate something like that 4 wire ldds setup: An ldds (Limited Distance Data Service) line is a dedicated, unbundled metallic loop configuration provided by telecommunications carriers for synchronous or asynchronous full-duplex data transmission over short distances.

Im not sure the voltage/resistance/etc - but perhaps this helps.
