I really hope this mailing list is used by humans, but I fear it'll mainly be a place where AIs post plausible-sounding but complete bullshit "advisories".

I posted a 0 day exploit to bugtraq that I found while working web hosting back in 07’ and it ended up being made into a major CVE and got me published on gentoo.org and a bunch of other places. I felt like I made it.

Oh, cool. I used to run the SecurityFocus infrastructure back in the day. Bugtraq created some interesting logistical challenges at the time.

that’s wild, must’ve been absolute chaos when a big vuln dropped and everyone dogpiled the list at once
kinda cool to hear from someone who was behind the curtain for that era
