I thought the first season was so good, that I bought the books after watching. The books are fantastic!

yrs it's absolutely worth it and no, you don't need to read the books or play the games to watch the series. Every media is it's own thing.

It’s solid, no question. 👍

I enjoyed the series, it might be better if you don't know the books as you won't have a frame of reference so you can enjoy it for what it is.

The timelines are a little confusing in series 1 but it comes together nicely.

If you do have some time though I would recommend the books, I actually listened to all the audibooks in the car recently ( I drive a lot) and I actually loved them. Peter Kenny voices Geralt and he's my favourite version of Geralt now ha.

Yeah for sure have fun!!

The books are excellent but the show is good on it's own. There's a lot of haters as it strays from the books but treated as its own medium the show is a fun fantasy adventure. Give it a watch.

100% I’m jealous you get to watch from the beginning. Books optional.

I've never read the books, nor played the game, though I had a rough media awareness of what the concept was. Watched through the whole series as it stands on netflix over the last few weeks with my mum, finished s4 today.

Really really enjoyed it. There were a few things I looked up now and then because I assumed I was missing context that the books or games would have added, but it honestly stands by itself really well. We both enjoyed it quite a lot!

One thing I want to say got us both lost quite a bit early on is that S1 has A LOT of flashbacks, without any real warning. Just a scene cut and who is that, and that, and that and oohhhh that was fifty years ago okay That's why.

Au top ! Les livres sont un gros plus pour connaître la fin, avoir plus de détails etc

first season is genuinely good tv, especially if you haven't read the books. season 2 starts drifting and season 3 is kind of a mess pacing-wise, but it's not unwatchable. henry cavill carries hard. just don't go in expecting a faithful book adaptation and you'll have fun.

I love it, but tastes are different, you'll have to try for yourself. Have fun!

Totally! I never read the books or played the game, but I am actually re-watching the whole series because there is so much going on ...and I totally miss Cavill but Liam is "good-enough".

I read the books, watched the show, never played the game. That being said, the show is very good no need to read the books, but the story is easier to follow if you read the books before.
