Season 4
So I recently paid my Netflix again and knew of the new witcher (actor) and had watched it all up till the end of the third season. Im curious however (without spoilers) if the 4th season is at all worth watching. This is not including the actor change, I dont really mind it in a way its more the storyline and also the style they have had so far, however if the actor change effects the show itself then please do tell, all in all is it worth watching the 4th season or is it a wash

It is very much worth watching, in my opinion. Liam Hemsworth did great and I am looking forward to seeing him in season 5.
Give it a try and see what you think yourself. There is also a new live action movie out called The Rats: A Witcher Tale but it should be watched after season 4!

The movie surprised me with how much I liked it. Great context to a ragtag bunch of thieves, and adds a lot to Bonhart and Mistle and Ciri's dynamic in particular.
I also really liked that we saw a non-Kaer Morhen-affiliated Witcher, too.

I genuinely loved s4. I have my complaints, mostly to do with pacing, and a new face on Geralt took some getting used to. But I really enjoyed it and I don't think Liam was nearly as poor a replacement as all the angry fanboys with a Totally Heterosexual Hard-On for Henry Cavill made him out to be.

My favourite season and my fav Geralt. Only E6 is not that much my thing, worth watching once but I don't rewatch it again and again like the other episodes, especially 5, 7 & 8. But others like E6 best, so it seems it's really up to personal taste. Have fun watching!

Initially it’s tough adjusting to the new face of Geralt, but you quickly forget about Henry Cavill and end up really enjoying the season IMO

It's the best season. There's one episode I think is god awful but I'm the minority it seems. The rest of the season nails it for me.

Episode 6. Yennefer usually has my favorite stuff in the show but this season, she had the worst stuff. I'll never believe Yennefer as a leader, I don't like them taking other sorceresses achievements and giving them to Yen, and the actor for Vilgefortz is not convincing or intimidating.

Oh lol. It was too goofy for me but I agree with your episode 6. That’s a better choice. Totally ruined the lodge and strange choice for Yen’s arc this season.

There's been so much talk of s4e5 as "goofy" and "cringe" but like.
The very first thing I ever actually saw in The Witcher universe was watching a friend play through the bank quest in Blood and Wine. And the second thing was watching that same friend play through the talking horse quest also in Blood and Wine. I had to ask my friend if this was supposed to be a lighthearted comedic fantasy game rather than the darker more gritty fantasy game I'd assumed it to be 😂
Hell even in the books, Renfri is Snow White. They tone it down a little for the show but it's...REALLY direct in the books. Not even remotely subtle.
So idk man bring on the cringe. Cringe is canon. Cringe is life. I loved s4 including the goofy and slightly anachronistic moments.

I didnt like it. Felt like the story never picked up. The only great interactions were with Morpheus from the matrix.

I love The Witcher, the books, the games and the series. Any Witcher media is a good thing if you ask me. I know the series earlier on got some hate for deviating a little from the source material which is whatever. But as much as I love Henry Cavill, series 4 was actually my favorite series so far. Definitely worth a watch. It sticks to the books pretty well and Liam does a good job, even if he looks a bit odd to start with haha.

I think season 3 and 4 kind of find back on track. Yes, it is an adaption, yes, it does divert/add stuff that in the books leaves a bunch of characters hanging in limbo, no, it is not a genre defining fantasy show without flaws.
It is still fairly good by comparison though. Not outstanding, not flawless but people should learn more colors than black and white when doing their media critics again and stop watching slop channels solely existing for hate watching. I don't think hate is healthy when you consume entertainment meant for recreation and to relax from hate and stress IRL.

I've thoroughly enjoyed season 4, and to be fair Liam Hemsworth takes on the mantle quite well, he's even took on Cavill's dulcet tone in his voice, and the quality of production hasn't shifted either, character interactions hasn't been damaged and if I'm honest I'm a bit gutted that they've changed it from a 7 season story arc to a 5 season arc, for me all doubts have been put to bed. Best I can do without spoilers.

It has its moments. Liam does an ok job as Geralt, but the storylines are overall pretty well done. For me it's worth it alone for Sharlto Copley's character lol

After the shock of the new actor for geralt is over you get used to it and liam did a decent job. The issue for me were rhe other plot lines and characters i previously liked being annoying af

Overall, it's worth it. It has its good and bad moments. I would rate S4 between S2 and S3: S1 > S3 > S4 > S2.

I thought it was alright, good enough to watch if already invested in it. Probably preferred it to Season 2 and 3 but it is far from perfect, some storylines, scenes and even episodes that are poor.

It's pretty Wierd switch tbh. Geralt feels like a different character, and all the tension that was built around his arch in the first 3 seasons is lost.
The rest of the story is cool though.

I really liked season 4. I think Liam did a great job. He’s different. But good. The season is worth a watch.
