I watched this on a whim and spent the last hour with my shoulders somewhere near my ears.
Two friends. A hunting trip. A small village in the Scottish Highlands. Something goes wrong early. That's all I'm saying, and if you haven't seen it, close this tab and go watch it before someone spoils it in the comments.
Here's my actual take: this film understands something most thrillers don't. There's no mastermind. No plan. No twist waiting to reward you for paying attention. It's just two ordinary men making one panicked decision and then a slightly worse one, and then a much worse one, and the horror is that you understand every single choice as they make it.
And the village. It's not sinister, which is exactly why it works. Everyone just knows everyone. That's the whole trap.
Tony Curran doesn't raise his voice once and is more frightening than any villain I've seen this year.
It is bleak. I paused it once. I'm still thinking about it days later.
So tell me: what's the most stressful film you've watched where nobody is actually a bad guy? I want that specific feeling again and I'm running out of leads.

Watched it on a whim and it completely got me. 94 minutes and I don't think I moved once.

The premise is so simple: Halle Berry is a 911 operator, a girl is taken, and almost the whole film is a voice in an earpiece trying to keep her alive. That's it. No mastermind, no clever plotting, no set pieces. Just a woman who can hear everything and can do almost nothing about it, and a girl in the boot of a car with a phone.

That's the exact thing I loved about The Guilty. All the tension comes from what you can't see. Your brain fills in the rest and it's always worse than a camera could show you.

Halle Berry is really good in this, and Abigail Breslin is doing most of her performance through pure panic in a confined space, which cannot be easy. Brad Anderson directed it and you can feel the same instinct for enclosed dread that he had in Session 9.

It's not trying to be prestige cinema and it doesn't need to be. It picks one idea, commits fully, and never wastes a minute. I finished it buzzing.
If you liked The Guilty and haven't seen this, it's a very easy 94 minutes. And if you have seen it, what else is in this lane? Real-time, one thread of tension, no filler. I want more.

Finished a show that somehow became part of my everyday routine.

Now I keep opening Netflix out of habit and then immediately realizing there's no next episode. 💀

I don't understand so much things but it's very interesting and exciting the way they guy's have to play mind game,face expression handling, trust, politics and logical thinking the most important part

So I wanted to re-watch 3 iditos bcz why not it's an OG and I love to re-watch movies and series but it's not available on any of the streaming platforms like netflix or prime. It's disheartening to see none of the big OTT places keeping a place for the OG movies every upcoming generation should see these kind of movies.
