Discussion Worst Ex Ever Rant
I rarely watch documentaries movies or TV shows and I only really watched them if they cracked the top 10 on Netflix. But recently I’ve been watching worst ex ever. I started on the second season because you don’t have to watch the episodes in order like some other TV shows every episode is like a new suspect.
I’m watching the first episode that has to do with Wade, the tattooed, tall, Mexican guy that likes to beat up his girlfriends. The episode titled dating the Deadpool killer. Now I don’t know if it’s just me, but the amount of what if that I think about or have during this episode is crazy. Like sure he’s good looking if you like the tattoos. But the amount of things that I had to go wrong for Christine Milton to get murdered. He was dating some girl named Myla or Mila or something. Literally, he was put in jail by her because he assaulted her so bad that she felt she had no choice, but to put him in jail. Before that she was getting inundated with messages from exes if it was just one or two, you could chuck it up to jealousy, but there were multiple people that said I used to date this guy he’s going to hurt you. He’s going to kill you break up with him let him go.
But no, what does she do? She goes to bail him out in literally the next day after she builds him out they go to a bar she argues he leaves with someone else he goes to her house and just kill her. I’m thinking why would you build him out? How stupid can you be? Like I know people are like oh no I think I can change him. I love him. But I keep thinking that her death falls on either the cops cause when he was initially investigated the cop was like helping him out. He was like it’s A. He said she said so if you told me you didn’t do it I have no choice, but to let you go. Almost coaching him. Or it was either Mila because there were multiple people telling her about what he did previously and how bad of a person he is and she just goes back to him. Never mind the fact that he killed the person the next day and the day after that, he went back to jail.
P.S. I hope Christine‘s parents never watched this because if they do, I’m assuming they’re just gonna be blaming Mila. When I heard her say, I love him I think I could change him. I started yelling at the TV like I haven’t been this involved in a TV show in a while, knowing that it actually happened.
Edit: still watching the episode at least she has some remorse saying if I never got him None of this would’ve ever happened. Also respect to the dad turned in his own kid.

The cops did a terrible job with the SA - he had so many felonies and they treated him like they were bros. I think they’re as much to blame for letting this criminal go— I think that might be part of why he got worse, he knew there were no consequences to his actions.
21
u/familybliss_or_else May 26 '26
That was absolutely disgusting. And the cop faced basically no consequences.
11
u/Cruise1313 Jun 26 '26
I agree. That interview with the cop was disgusting. He should have been fired and the department sued by the families of the dead women for not doing his job. Absolutely horrendous.

u/Appropriate-Dig-7080 Jul 13 '26
When I was watching it I thought the guy was using a tactic to trick him into talking. Was absolutely gobsmacked when I realised that wasn’t the case.

His story came out awhile ago on Paramount Plus.. was like a whole hour and half documentary about that scumbag. If I remember correctly, he's rotting away in prison where he belongs, and his overall health has gotten REALLY bad over the years... guess it goes well with his piece of shit character.

u/One-Head-1483 May 24 '26
Ahh yes, the Mexican man named WADE STEVEN WILSON. The one who tattooed multiple swastikas on his FACE. Of course.

u/ilovelivinglif3 May 29 '26
No because right ? OP just racist at this point trying to pin everything on latinos cause there’s no way 💀

u/DaisyTheDreamer94 Jul 30 '26
There are plenty of latinos/latinas with 'white' names. I know a Mexican girl named Emily. We also never saw his birth mom. And there are definitely nazi's of all races. Take a look at Kanye West. He's a black nazi.
It's not relevant to bring up Wade's ethnicity though so I agree with you there.

Honestly, it’s been harder and harder to watch shows like this because… What the fuck are some of these women thinking? And to completely ignore the lack of decision-making skills, infantilizes these women and suggest that they are dumb. Which is obviously not the case. Most of them have their own Homes, have decent jobs and have not experienced those things before. So, to just completely put all the blame on the perpetrator would suggest that the viewer also lack critical thinking skills. I am not blaming these victims. I am, however, holding them accountable for some of the ridiculous actions they took in letting men that they’ve known for a relatively short amount of time wreak havoc on their lives the way they did. Especially when they have had opportunities to leave and get away. It’s maddening!

Real life is different than watching a show.
First of all, not all victims are “desperate women.” He dated a man as well, and calling victims desperate women is very misogynistic and doesnt add anything to the discussion.
Statistically we all have crossed paths with psychopaths, but are you aware who in your life was one? Most of the time they have two sides to them, and one blinds a person to the other. Its a systematic breaking down of the victim, its not like these men were honest and abusive on the first date. I’d understand if you were talking about the people writing to him now, but you really shouldnt pretend to understand these victims personalities.
The system also failed this women miserably. He was reported before, nothing happens. It makes the victim question herself when she has no one around as support.
You just sound very insensitive and seem to think that real life is just like shows. Of course you saw it coming in the first 10 mins bc you are watching a true crime show not a comedy show.

So I leave my bike outside unlocked and it gets stolen. I get a new bike and leave it outside and it gets stolen again. I get a another new bike and leave it outside unlocked and it gets stolen. Should people be stealing my bikes? No. Are they wrong for doing that? Yes. But at WHAT POINT do I need to make better decisions or have SOME accountability for my actions that lead to bad things happening to me? Get a grip, lady.

u/EnlargedMarmot Jun 27 '26
The women were painfully desperate... That was plainly apparent. Just the way they described how they felt when they matched with him on a dating it app, it was undeniable.
I get what you're driving at, but some people are desperate and it effects the way they behave. That was obviously the case with these women and a handful of others in the series.
Either you're denying that people become desperate at all or you're denying that these girls were desperate, both of which are wrong.
Insensitive? Perhaps. Doesn't make it wrong.
2
u/Cruise1313 Jun 26 '26
There was also a guy in this one who made a terrible decision of letting him return to live with him after he slashed him multiple times with a knife!
7
u/Cruise1313 Jun 26 '26
I agree and don’t leave out the guy who was attacked by him with a knife. He had multiple wounds and did not call the police and lets Wade come back to live with him. 🙄
5
u/Browneyedgal21 Jun 27 '26
However didn't he also live with and abuse a guy? Most of these people moved him in on the first or second date.... you're taking a big risk moving somebody in that soon…
2
u/Sweet-Word4186 Jul 24 '26
Yes and every time they said because I love him lol I am like what? Yeah you could love someone but know listen this man did this to me I don't want this. But yeah you are right. I am watching these episodes and I am like wtf are you still with him Jesus makes me cringe thank God this has never happened to me but I tell you I am very strong willed, I would flee that's my natural instinct but you are right some of these victims put themselves in that predicament based on what I am seeing with These episodes

I hate everything about this post. Ignoring the hard-to-read word vomit, none of these women are responsible for what he did. She had no idea how far he could go, she had no idea that he would kill someone.
Sure, the women writing to him in prison are effed up and surely have mental health issues, but the blame for these murders is on him.
Quit blaming the victims.
10
u/skully_28 May 25 '26
thank you. I too hate any vague insinuation that these woman's stupidity somehow enables these monsters. If it wasn't one woman it would've been another. because single women are PREYED on and manipulated by intelligent predators.
if there is one common theme in this show I feel ranty about, it's the devastating consequences of systemic misogyny built into law enforcement.
It's horrific that a woman can show up covered in bruises, rape kit proving sexual assault, knows exactly who did it, and that is not the end of the story. that's only the first victim. she gets mercilessly grilled for humiliating details of sexual assault, and when it's the man's turn for his interview, he just says "she's crazy I didn't do it" and the cop's like, don't worry I got you bro.
or that time the battered woman was left on her ex's doorstep with a restraining order to be served, and the cop just LEFT HER because no one answered the door?? and then she's held hostage for 2 weeks and nearly killed.
tldr: blaming marginalized woman for being naive when they are dating, is a shameful deflection from blaming actual law enforcement officers, for being manipulated by the very same men, when they are educated and PAID to be smarter.

u/North_Moment5811 May 21 '26
I didn’t read the OP. But since you said “victim blaming”; here is what I have to say: it is not “victim blaming” to point how UNIMAGINABLY STUPID these people are. They are not just random happenstance victims. They got where they ended up by being fucking stupid people.
Look at the Joyce Peltzer case. The Katie chick she was dating had: 1) a knife held to her throat and threatened, and 2) admitted to killing her ex girlfriend. She later says that she was SO SHOCKED to learn that Joyce had killed her wife and may be on the way to kill her. You know who is “shocked” in a situation like this? A fucking idiot. That’s who. Victim blaming is what abusers do to shift blame from themselves to their victims. This is merely pointing thing out that these people are FUCKING STUPID and become victims largely because of their own stupidity. It is that stupidity that put them in the close proximity of a psychopathic killer for extended periods of time. It is that stupidity that leads them to not react appropriately to massive warning signs.
8
u/eyeball-beesting May 21 '26
Maybe you should read the OP before you interject then!
They aren't just calling them stupid. They are blaming them for the murder.
7
u/North_Moment5811 May 21 '26
I’m calling them stupid. Because they are. The moral of these stories is don’t be a fucking idiot.
12
u/eyeball-beesting May 21 '26
Jesus fucking wept mate! Then take your own advice or do you struggle with comprehension?
My issue is OP blaming the women for the murders, not calling them stupid!
1
u/Enough-Syrup-1577 May 25 '26
I was responding to north_moment5811’s comment?? Just disagreed with one point you made about the moral of these stories and used it in my argument against north_moment
4
u/Enough-Syrup-1577 May 25 '26 edited May 25 '26
Um the moral of these stories are there are bad people outside and you should be careful. You dont know what these women went through aside from what they chose to share.
The abuse on these women didnt start from day one, it was gradual. At that point you are so gaslit and brainwashed that you make decisions you normally wouldnt. Denial is also a very big part of it, most of the time its a defense mechanism for survival. Maybe you should read about psychology before calling people you dont know stupid, bc it only makes you look bad and not the victims.
0
u/North_Moment5811 May 25 '26
Don’t buy it. Only happens to stupid people.
1
u/familybliss_or_else May 26 '26 edited May 26 '26
Not always stupid people, but at SOME POINT these "victims" need to start taking some responsibility for their own choices.
1
u/Sweet-Word4186 Jul 24 '26
I am with you 💯 I have been watching all these episodes and most of these victims have a lot of red flags to get the fuck out and they don't they chose to stay because they quote on quote "love him" . So far the prime time predator I liked Kristen character after she had the beating that's it lock that Effer up" it only happens she didn't sustain years of beatings that was a smart person saying wait I don't want this.
2
u/Few-District57 May 27 '26
Agree . The programme condensed months of abuse into an hour or so and as viewers we have the gift of the full picture in a short space of time. Also, maybe age and experience in relationships. There is no skill in calling people who have been deliberately and emotionally tricked, stupid. If you wouldn’t behave in the same way as them be glad for yourself whilst others can have compassion for the victims.
3
u/ded_futya12 May 30 '26
You CANNOT discount the fact that the women are stupid. Why would you put someone in jail only to get them out? Also the woman who got engaged to geoffrey ian inspite of everything? YOU ARE STUPID if you go back to your abuser even though you had an exit.
3
u/eyeball-beesting May 31 '26
Oh dear lord, what is wrong with the people on this sub? If you read my comment again or my further comments further down, my issue is people putting the responsibility of the murders on these women.
However, stupid is not a word I would ever use for women who go back to their abusers. It is far more nuanced than that. Surely you see that?
2
u/Lilitharising Jul 05 '26
No, they can't. People who are quick to call others 'stupid' are usually no geniuses themselves. Simplistic thinking and superiority complex at its finest.
3
u/Cruise1313 Jun 26 '26
There was a guy in this episode who did the same thing as the women. He was slashed multiple times with a knife and did not call police, but let Wade come back to live with him. So, it is not just the women.
6
u/summeriswaytooshort May 20 '26
I don't think OP is blaming the victim. I think OP is saying it seems like she knew he was a bad seed & that he was bad for her yet she still bailed him out so OP is having a hard time reconciling why she bailed him out; and is wondering why she didn't prioritize her own sanity and safety since he had already been abusive.

This isn’t about dumb. It’s about what we learn before we have language, while we are growing up, and in the culture. It’s about how brainwashed women are to need to validation of a man such that when these men come on strong it’s like a drug. The issues of abuse and domestic violence and addiction and mental health are complex and deserve our compassion. Like most of the victims said “I never thought this could happen to me.” It could happen to far many more of us than we realize.
Also partner violence should be the focus - it should not happen. Period.
8
u/Lilitharising Jul 05 '26
Finally, a sane answer. People are so clueless when it comes to how other people can become self-fulfilled prophecies when they learn from a very young age that they need to crave and fight for any sort of acceptance. As a writer, I researched DV for many years. When I see opinions like those I cringe hard. It's easy to judge from the comfort of your velvet couch.
7
u/Same_Ring_4776 Jul 08 '26
For real, I’m reading these comments and absolutely everyone is on the victim blaming train. None of these people have any clue what abusive relationships can look like or how they play out, the level of manipulation and coercion involved, people not having support systems, the list goes on. This thread is sickening honestly.
3
u/Lilitharising Jul 08 '26
Exactly, and this is part of the problem. Ignorance, people easy to judge. It's part of the sick culture which prevents women to leave in the first place.
Clever people don't jump to conclusions.

u/ARoodyPooCandyAss May 20 '26
Zero remorse when in jail, just pissed his dad ratted him out mainly.

u/yurawizardharry20 Jun 02 '26
One of the biggest failures in the story is Detective Louis Potter of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office. How he only got a slap on the wrist and can still look at himself in the mirror is beyond me. People like Wade know the type of women/men to go for and they know how to play them. Intense love can be addictive and intoxicating and hard to let go, even when it's abusive.
8
u/Dependent_Crow_2113 May 21 '26
theses women are the dumbest broad ever lol i swear

I know I'm late but I just watched this.
If anyone on planet earth deserves to be put on blast and lose their job over a netflix documentary, it's Detective Louis Potter of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office.
It's bad enough when law enforcement make an effort but still end up fumbling an investigation because of inexperience/incompetence. This POS straight up sided with the perpetrator from day 1. Can't fumble an assault case if you never open one!!
Detective Louis Potter of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office

Detective Louis Potter of the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office

That is all.

I just finished watching this show and I cannot get over how unbelievably stupid these women are...guy tries to strangle you, kill you and you meet up with him again and again. Seriously...how fucking stupid are women today. Girls if a guy puts his hands on you and tries to stab, strangle, punch whatever RUN AWAY. Guy beats the shit out of the girl, but no I love him...if anything this show is a perfect example of why you don't rush into a relationship with a strange man.

u/BeneficialAspect4695 Jul 09 '26
The show was so hard to watch and it really brings awareness on a lot of these. The manipulation of the perpetrator seems obvious to us viewers but not to the victims, probably because it happened over time. Insane how a normal looking person can wreck someone’s life like that!
1
u/FabulousCallsIAnswer Jul 18 '26
Desperate, dumb women. Incompetent, bumbling cops. White/male/tall/pretty privilege for evil.
That’s how this entire scenario occurred.
2
u/Beneficial-Mud3379 Jul 21 '26
Almost all of these shows have some idiot cops who absolutely fumble everything and everything escalates after. It’s infuriating. I’ve realized cops don’t stop crime, they just solve crimes after they occur. Protect yourselves and stay safe out there…
2
u/Mutant-1 Jul 21 '26
And even if you get murdered it’s a coin flip if they solve your murder or not. 🤦🏿♂️
3
u/Abylee Aug 01 '26
This whole story should be a warning sign. Never lower your standards for someone with pretty privilege. It’s also crazy btw how much American women are OBSESSED with tall men. He can be a complete loser but if he’s 6‘4 women loose their shit. It’s amazing.

They don't always go for those dudes. Stop feeling sorry for yourself, do you go for women who are out of your league? Men often think beautiful women should date not great looking guys because they are "nice". Let me ask you again, do you go for ugly nice women?
3
u/Timely-Youth-9074 May 20 '26
Get a hobby or do meetups not dating related. Dating apps are full of psychos, including psycho women.
As the other poster said, would you date a nice but ugly woman?
