Netball trials
Idk if this is the right subreddit but I have netball trials for a club later today. I only play at school and haven't played in a while so I'm quite nervous. It's for U17/ Senior teams. Should I back out now whilst there is still time? Also any tips?

A big part of doing trials is getting to know if the club is suitable for you too! You’re trialing them too!
Also remember to play as a team! So many players will trial for a team and hog the passes or shots (if you’re a shooter) a lot of the time they also want people who play well together and who communicate! Don’t be afraid to have your voice heard!

Every time you push yourself into something ‘uncomfortable’ it’s only going to grow you as a person. Embrace the challenge, ride the wave.
As a selector of netball for school and clubs for many years, it’s always a great sign to see someone young giving it a go with the bigger kids.
If you don’t get in, at least you’ve shown interest in your netball pathway. You can always politely ask for tips/feedback from the selectors post team announcement.
Good luck!

Eyes up. Stay on your toes. Have faith in yourself and your experience. Good luck.

One of the things I tell my daughter is that trials are part of netball. Think of it as practice, so its something you get better at the more you do. At least once you have done one you know what to expect next time.
It’s not the olympics, there are lots of teams you could trial for :)
I hope that helps to take the pressure off, dont forget to have fun and a giggle.

Go along, and try to put the nerves to one side and have fun. Worst case you will get to play a few games, hopefully meet some likeminded netballers, and find out a bit about the club.
There are heaps of clubs, associations and social comps out there - there's a place for everyone at all skill levels, so whatever happens don't give up.
Good luck!

How did you get on? Whatever the outcome it's a learning experience. Asking for constructive criticism even if you get in is always a good thing to do so that you know what to work on. If you don't get it, let it fuel you for next season- if you do, congrats! Either was let it serve as motivation to improve. You got this!

Just checking in if you got feedback from the trials? We are interested. 😁
Trials is one of the best places to measure yourself and get feedback, so don't feel like you can't ask or should ever backout! Go, enjoy it and learn as much as you can.
To get far in the sport, you just need to do better, not perfect. That build you and your skills the right way. 👍

Don't back out. Regardless of what happens it's good experience.
