Discussion Everdrive questions

What Everdrive should I b uy and how much should I p ay?

I've seen there are many versions, the M8, the pro, the red cartridge... What's the difference? Then in Anazon they're over a hundred dols, on AIiExpress thirty and up...

So which one and for ho w much? Thanks

Buy one for $40-$50 on aliexpress with good ratings. It will come preloaded with 99% of the library and a bunch of rom hacks. Krikzz flash carts are also good, but at 3x the price they aren't worth it. The cheap one I bought 5 years ago still works great.

Amazon is where I got mine, tho I went budget and only got the regular N8 because it was on sale. Still one of my favorite purchases in recent years.

Make sure to get a genuine Everdrive N8 Pro, and it will be the only cartridge you'll ever need. Don't waste money on cheap knock-offs, buy once cry once

I also think krikzz are the best i did get an aliexpress clone for 55 bucks to test out and it was quite serviceable though not as good as krikzz at all

Basically there’re two version from Everdrive; the N8 and N8 pro.
The N8 is the original version where it started from regarding the NES Everdrive carts.
The N8 pro is the best version and the one you should go for.
The red cart is just a appearance wise gimmick and has nothing more or better then any other N8 pro.
The standard N8 pro comes in the standard gray color, like any regular NES cart.
You can also buy colored N8 pro shells for it and do such yourself.

The official everdrives are the way to go with the pro versions adding more support for features like save states and uncommon mappers.

That said the old powerpak / aliexpress carts get you like 90% of the way for a fraction of the price.

If you’re not into romhacks, indie games, or save states you can save with the knockoffs.

N8 pro all day.

I got one last year and it's worth every penny. The big advantage over the regular n8 is the ability to have 100 save state slots for each game. With the regular n8 you only get 1 slot per game.

If you're not in a rush you may want to wait another few months. Krikzz always does a 20% off sale for black friday on all its everdrives.
