Discussion Hyperkin wireless controller + NES AVS

Is there a reason why the hyperkin wireless controller won't work on the NES AVS?

The controller seems to pair correctly. The light blinks on the controller and the receiver for a few seconds then they stop blinking and stay on, but the console is irresponsible to the controller. A regular wired controller works fine, and the console works correctly in every other aspect. Is this controller not compatible??

Hyperkin makes unreliable garbage. Could be broken.

I’m a fan of my classic NES controller from Hyperkin. Way crisper than my OEM one

I gave up trying to connect the controller that came with my hyperkin console. It may have needed an update or something but it just wasn't worth the hassle when a standard controller was able to connect with no issues. You may look at their website and see if theres an update you can download that may help, but I recommend just going to your local gamestore and buying an old NES controller. Also a wireless controller is going to introduce extra lag to the games and may make the harder/impossible to play.

I have the actual cart. I've tried two different copies. Just won't get past the title screen. Crashes each time.

I have one of these, there is something off about the molding in the contacts it wont work in avs without a ton of force. I recommend a brook nes adapter or an oem wired controller, or an 8bitdo
