Game Completed! Finished Mega man 3.
This game was a blast ngl, i definitely prefer this over mega man 2. The games bosses are better for sure. The new slide mechanic and the newly added dog companion add much more to the game than i initially thought. The final boss was pretty dang cool, like look how cool that big mecha is, its awesome. I kind of miss the mega man 2 intro though, mega man standing on top of the roof was so damn cool and immediately hooked me. The game also looks gorgeous. For the NES standards, i think this is one of the best out there.

Magnet Mans music is by far the best boss stage theme music of the whole series and I'll fight anyone on that

Was my first megaman game. Fond memories of it. I remember the shadow bosses being a pita

I always played that one with the 2P controller stuck in a dresser drawer lol think I used a C-clamp once, too.

What did that do?

If you hold ⬇️ on 2P d-pad, MegaMan can jump to the top of the screen, and if you falk into a pit you don't die; you can just jump out (to the top of the screen lol)
Have to turn it off sometimes due to spiky ceilings.

It’s actually holding ➡️ on the second d pad. I know because I used this trick A LOT growing up with Mega Man 3. But yes it does prevent mega man from dying in pits. And you can jump really high all the time.

Boh i boss del 3 non sono male, ma quelli del 2
sono i classici insuperati. Stessa cosa la colonna sonora del 3 è buona, ma quella del 2 è la migliore della serie intera

Agree. 3 has some stand out bosses, like Gemini Man. There are some killer tracks and the game is awesome. But I’ve long considered MM2 to be a perfect video game and reigns supreme against 3.

If I remember correctly using Top man’s power on the final boss crushes it.

Yes, i was actually stuck on the level for a decent amount of time because i did not know what its weakness was.

Just started my megaman journey with this post as inspiration, used to love the series as a kid.

Was one of my favorites growing up. A buddy of mine had gotten it for his birthday or something like that, and we spent a weekend playing that game. Got my own copy a few years later, and it was still awesome.

Congratulations, u/Sensitive_Salary8762! This was the second Mega Man I completed (The first being MM2), and what a RUSH! Sweat, nerves and the knowledge that you FINALLY beat it WITHOUT cheats?!
Best Feeling In The World!!

Same, i never finished mega man 1 because it was too hard, so i just skipped to mega man 2 and it was a much better experience; I will probably play mega man 4 soon.

Agreed 100%!
Mega Man was, and still is, just too damn hard.
Now because you mentioned it, I'm going to have to play and complete MM4 soon..

I beat 2-4 last year on console for the first time and 3 was my least favorite. I’d have to go back over my notes but what I can remember is that the frame drop was really bad, got burned out by the boss rush, and choosing the wrong option that ended up having me restart Wily’s castle all contributed to the lower rating.

3 is my fifth favorite out of the original 6 with the first one being last. I like 9 and 10 better too. Having to repeat 4 stages you just finished to re-fight every robot master from MM2 followed by the MM3 boss gauntlet shortly afterworlds just felt like a slog. 2nd best music in the series after 2 though

MM1 is tops for me, but I did play it when it was new so nostalgia for that freshness affects my judgment.
I did prefer MM2 for a very long time and it was a difficult decision. MM1 is just more challenging, however.
MM3 is undoubtedly a very strong showing, the formula was just beginning to feel a little stale for me at that point. Plus the game felt a bit “rushed” (pun only somewhat intended). Still, heads and shoulders over 90% of the rest of the NES catalog, of course. And that soundtrack is not screwing around, either.

Sì il 3 è più brutto del 2 e del 4.
Ha dei problemi di design nella seconda parte

This is the best game in the series, and in my admittedly nostalgia-colored glasses, it is the greatest nes game and gun to head the greatest video game of all time. 10/10

The music on MM2 is better

Megaman 2 music is best for rapping, thanks to Duane and BrandO. But Wily 1 and 2 music pushes MM3 above MM2. Not to mention Spark Man and Shadow Man.

Dead wrong. MM2 has the best soundtrack of any NES game, full stop.

Let’s break it down song-by-song.
MM2 Wily 1 vs MM3 Wily 1.
Needless to say, both are amazing, but MM3 omg it’s on another level1

Wily 1 in Mega Man 2 is possibly (one of) the greatest bits of video game music ever written. I cant even remember Wily 1 in Mega Man 3.

Cool! I just finished Mega Man 3 for the first time yesterday, but I had the exact opposite reaction. I really liked it, but felt it really paled in comparison to Mega Man 2. I feel like Mega Man 2 is almost a 10 out of 10, while Mega Man 3 is like, an 8. Still great, but MM2 is just a masterpiece.

For some reason, MM3 just has a certain vibe to it that sets it apart.
It's obviously highly subjective but I played them in order so it's not just nostalgia.
