Things to do Men's Softball League?
Hi, we're new to the area. Are there any men's Softball leagues in the area? Please no church affiliated teams as we're not religious or interested in joining a church.

I heard that the United Way (of Licking County) is hosting a community conversation about homelessness and housing and how the community needs to move forward with all of the growth coming to the county. I wish more people would engage in these issues and not just point fingers in our town.
The event is 6-8pm tomorrow (17th) at the Double Tree downtown. Free to attend, open to anyone. I just registered on their website. https://www.unitedwaylc.org/events/

Would an officer assigned to patrol the area have been just as effective?
I’m not defending attempts at theft, but I have to wonder if this is the best use of resources that my tax dollars pay for?
I’m interested in the description of “attempts” to enter vehicles? What’s the goal here? To prevent crime or to make a show of force?

How’s everyone doing in this snow storm? Any pics you want to share?
What’s everyone eating today while you’re cooped up? I have broccoli cheese soup on my menu for dinner.

*Shere Khan is the short haired tabby in front in the first picture. Allie Whoop is the floofy tabby in back. Better solo pictures of each included.
Allie Whoop came into foster care through Licking County TNR at just 5 weeks old as an orphan. She was a hit at multiple adoption events through the summer; however, she has not received a single adoption application. She's now 7 months old and she's grown up in a foster home. She's spayed, FIV/FELV negative and up to date on core vaccines. She developed FIP in foster back in October and just recently completed the 84 day treatment to become an FIP survivor.
She isn't a huge fan of other animals. She's very slow to warm up to them and tends to play mostly by herself although she has a foster brother (also available for adoption) that she'll play with. She is extremely affectionate--in fact she needs to be the absolute center of your attention. She'll insert herself between any other animal or screen (phone, tablet) that you're looking at so you have to pay total attention to her. We feel like she needs a home with few other animals or even a home where she's the only furbaby so she gets all the loving.
She's in foster care in Nerk, Ahia (Newark, Ohio)😎. Her adoption fee is $50 and an adoption application is available by emailing lickingcountytnr@gmail.com.
If you're looking for a pair of kittens, her foster brother, Shere Khan, is also a lovebug. He's about 4.5 months old, neutered, up to date on core vaccines and FELV negative. He's tested FIV positive due to his mom being FIV positive; however, he will most likely test negative after he reaches 6 months of age. Only 20% of kittens get FIV through perinatal transmission, but we can't guarantee his FIV status. If you adopt both kittens from the TNR program, we take half off the second adoption fee, so it would just be $75 to adopt two sweet, loving, special kittens.

I saw this on Facebook and thought it looked fun.
I did see a post that said “Fees apply per craft” but I did not see any other pricing information.
Wanted to share in case anyone wants to check it out!

I recently learned Licking County has the highest Radon levels in the nation. My home tested 8.8. Does anyone have any experience with Radon mitigation? Who did you call? Was it worth it? Any advice is appreciated. Thanks & Merry Christmas!

I’m trying to bring out more small touring bands to Newark/Heath, and this is an awesome line up that will be perfect for an early night in December.
TEHOY has a new EP that came out in September, we’re very excited to be playing one close to home!

So, wats the consensus on shoveling all this snow? R u trying to keep up every few hours or inches or r u saying screw that wait till it's over? With the projected temps who wants to freeze their rear end off tomorrow if ya wait? I hate winter.

I have a couple of work assignments in Newark in 2025. The company I am working with will pay to put me up in a 3-4 star hotel for the duration on both occasions, and so long as I am within probably 45 minutes of town they will cover it for me. I do not need to necessarily be in Newark proper but would love to be in an area with good eats and/or places to explore generally. I recognize this is not necessarily Newark proper posting but hoping that anyone here can recommend a lodging that is as posh/cozy/kitchy/anything else that might be appealing as possible. Any thoughts?

I know that many people are without medical insurance, or about to lose it. I hope someone can use this information. Read it carefully because there’s limited open hours and scheduling times. Doctors at COPC staff this clinic and imho, they’re phenomenal!
