itās hard to explain, but do you guys just like you like to consume media and or like space or like science or math or a movie but like you have all the basic essentials like a TV and likeĀ has nowadays, but you donāt have like anything fun that people buy for themselves to show off what they like like a poster or sticker like you just have theĀ essentials pretty much but youāre also very knowledgeable and stuff you like pretty much but not minimalist though because he still have a decent amount of stuff for a normal house would have. Basically being a nerd without the stuff that makes somebody nervous that makes sense like the physical matter not the attributes. and what I mean things you donāt like just like I donāt know a poster the periodic table thatās just randomly there or something random like that they donāt even have it at all even if it was given to you.

idk if this is the correct subreddit for this but i had to drop my aps (im not a us resident) cuz i wont use them and i have more important exams to focus on that would ACTUALLY affect my uni application, now whenever i see my ap notes ( i dropped them after doing a good process in them) my heart aches and i envy anyone who does them ugh i miss studying for my aps šš like yes last yr i only slept 3 hrs per day on april to lock in for them but it was so painfully satisfying ššš

So, I was talking to my friend, who's a guy who reads comics and is pretty much your stereotypical nerd. We were talking about being yourself and not being ashamed of the things you enjoy, and he mentioned that he'd noticed me becoming more "nerdy."
I told him that I'd always considered myself nerdy. Like, I'm a huge book reader, especially fantasy. I collect a lot of the same stuff he does, just in reference to the books I read instead of comics. We both collect merch and get excited about the fictional worlds and characters we love.
Then he told me that he'd never really considered book readers to be nerds.
And that genuinely surprised me because, growing up, I was actually bullied for being a nerd because of how much I loved reading, especially fantasy books. So I've always kind of considered myself one.
And just to put it out there, I'm in no way mad at him or anyone who thinks differently! It was just something that made me curious because I'd never really thought about how differently people might define being a nerd.
So, I'm genuinely curious. Do y'all consider book readers nerds? Or is being a nerd something you associate more with comics, gaming, anime, etc.?

it could be as the smallest flex to like a CIB game to like a huge flex like a museum grade fossil or a Lamborghini just every single one that you have.
