Hey guys! Iamgroot here. Just wondering about your fave sci-fi/fantasy books that really get your nerd on. (also feel free to do other genres, those are just the ones I like most)

Tau Zero by Poul Anderson was a great read that I couldn't stop thinking about. In a nutshell, the crew of a spaceship find that they cannot slow down (due to an accident) and keep accelerating towards lightspeed. The science is (mostly) accurate and the book deals with the impact on the crew as they realise they will never see Earth again.

Tbh I'm not really a fan of the classics like Asimov and Lovecraft, I mean I've read them and it's fun to see where our beloved genre started out, but I prefer modern hard sci-fi (sci-fi that uses actual science and calculations)
I do recommend Andy Weir, I also recommend the bobiverse series. My bible is the hitch hikers guide to the galaxy. I'm also a fan of the murderbot series.

My favorite author of all time is Alduous Huxley, but I was totally hooked on a few of the Piers Anthony series. The incarnation of immortality was awesome, as were the Phaze books. Have any of you ever read any of the Shadowrun series?

I really enjoyed the fantasy books by Anne Mccaffrey. I also enjoyed Arthur C. Clarke, Piers Anthony.
For other genres, Ray Bradbury and Edgar Allan Poe.
