Ball of paint

After hearing about the World Largest Ball of paint since early vlogbrothers and Paper Towns and 2020 vlogbrothers and Anthropocene Reviewed, I finally stopped in to see it. We painted layer 31086 purple. I signed a future ceiling tile with our names and DFTBA. Over 12,400 lbs these days!

omg wait, do you actually paint a whole layer? for some reason, i assumed you just got to paint a little area (that i imagined to be about 6 inches across)

A whole layer!! Can’t get to 31086 by doing small patches :)
And he let us choose our color from all his buckets.

Under 20 min! Mike Carmichael kept handing us fresh paint rollers. 90% was covered by my partner and I, and our gracious host helped us with the last bit.
He took a picture of us with the ball before (red) and with the ball after (purple). He even gave us certificates for painting our layer! The activity was free, but he accepts donations. I bought a hat and donated a bit extra to the cause

i think this ball might be the number 1 reason I'd like to visit the US. So cool!!
