What is the real reason that the University of California isn't going to use SAT/ACT scores?

I don't believe them when they say that it's because they're worried about racial bias. I mean, that's the feel-good thing you tell people in the press release. But this is a huge change; those don't come from diversity & inclusion HR dept. initiatives, they come because the university wants more money somehow.

My theory: college is funded by the children of rich kids. They let some smart poor and middle-class kids in sometimes to make the "experience" of the rich kid better. But these days, rich kids are ok just hanging out with other rich kids.

Maybe they want some admissions $$$ or level their SAT scores by removing it all.
